September 22, 200520 yr Author TWE header, TWE Downpipe, WJM Rallye Sport Intake system Version 1, WJM Rallye Sport TWE-Back exhaust version 1 (2.5 inch, 1 3way cat, 1 glasspack), NO intercooler. Timing set to 22 deg BTDC at idle, 1000 RPM. Needs tuning. The big spikes there are some kind of....something. Dunno. Does it on other cars too...maybe the ignition signla readers need to be checked over and recalibrated. The engine is COMPELTELY STOCK, aka its a 7.7:1 engine again....JWX and I swapped out the pistons for stockers to make it FSP legal for Solo2 competition. Next, MS+EDIS, Air/Water Intercooler, install Cruise Control, AC lines and make the AC work again.
September 22, 200520 yr Author There it is with the STI TMIC from months back....only other change is the fact that the axle back was a 2 inch with a glasspack. Noticeable power band change....
September 22, 200520 yr Whats up with your fueling? Usually the jaggedyness is fueling issues... but at like 3 grand it gets super rich... whats up with that?
September 22, 200520 yr Dont our cars make something like 115hp stock? With these graphs it seems your doing worse than stock... or am I reading it wrong? -Brian
September 22, 200520 yr That is power at the wheels if I'm not mistaken(Will, please correct me if I'm wrong). Our cars make 115hp at the flywheel or crank, whichever one tickles your fancy. The numbers aren't bad considering that the engine is basically stock, aside from the timing, intake and exhaust.
September 22, 200520 yr What all do you have done, if you don't mind me asking? If you're talking about WJM, then check the 1st part of his post. Basically what I have now.
September 22, 200520 yr No, I wasn't referring to Will's mods. I was asking Brian about what he has done to his car.
September 22, 200520 yr Author those are HP/TQ numbers AT THE WHEELS. That translates into 150hp/155tq at the crank. Stock is 115/136. Yeah, for some reason the lines are NOT smooth like they were months ago. That will be fixed this weekend tho.
September 22, 200520 yr There it is with the STI TMIC from months back....only other change is the fact that the axle back was a 2 inch with a glasspack. Noticeable power band change.... horsepower and torque are supposed to cross at 5250 rpms. theres something up with the dyno
September 22, 200520 yr Author horsepower and torque are supposed to cross at 5250 rpms. theres something up with the dyno 50% of the graphs ive seen, this dyno or not, do not cross at 5252.
September 22, 200520 yr wow nice power, i'm waiting to for someone to get a 4wd dyno here intown that i can get an idea of power. Right now i have stock engine with 10 psi boost. last night i put it up to 15psi (no intercooler:banghead: ) and just spanked a mustang 5.0L it was good times. Exept for the now trashed clutch. oh and i have an open pipe turbo back 2". no muffs and the only cat is in the downpipe. Soon to have a water to air intercooler, Megasquirt, STI downpipe. i'm hoping for 150 at the wheels.
January 18, 200620 yr 50% of the graphs ive seen, this dyno or not, do not cross at 5252. The vertical scaling for hp/tq has to be the same for them to cross. Mathmatically, they must cross because horsepower is a function of rpm and torque.
January 18, 200620 yr horsepower and torque are supposed to cross at 5250 rpms. theres something up with the dyno Hp=(torque x rpm)/5252 They have to otherwise they are misleading numbers.
January 18, 200620 yr need to remember these #'s are at wheels so gearing and tranny drag may play a part in the equation. the 5252 cross may only be for calculating at the flywheel...but thats a guess on my part.
January 19, 200620 yr need to remember these #'s are at wheels so gearing and tranny drag may play a part in the equation. the 5252 cross may only be for calculating at the flywheel...but thats a guess on my part. Na, power is always torque x rotational speed (x some funny unit correction for you guys who are stuck with imperial units!).
January 19, 200620 yr Guys, the scale isn't the same on his graph for horsepower as it is for torque - if they aren't the same, they of course won't line up at 5252.
