cut off the back, and make it an old school baja/brat mix!

I saw a Jeep Cherokee today with the rear bobbed to about 12 inches. It sure makes the departure angle steeper. Maybe a combo of taking the top off behind the front seats and bobbing the rear.

Man I wish the sold more subarus around here in the 80's! You guys have to many to play with! :slobber: We need more over here!

ive always thought cutting off the roof over the trunk looks real cool on the wagons.

loose all the glass and sheetmetal that you dare.

maybe inboard some tractor spotlights for headlights into the grille kinda like a narrow front end baja bug?

cut the crap out of the fenders for whatever tires you want

weld up the rear

roll bar?

two words......hardtop convertible......ok abunch more words....with roll bars for when it is sunny and good seals for when it rains....

was that a donation?

did she hurt it to much when she went out with us?

or did she take off for school and leave it behind?

Even though I said cut it up, I have to say that it looks pretty good in what little is showing in the pic. Seems kind of a shame....

See 'BamaJamma' in Round eye's 'Doorless' thread. Meets ALL the stated criteria, 'cept for leaving it alone, that is.

:D

picture for display only real car may very

lol, if its gonna be trailered, first thing first, DITCH THE FENDERS, dont cut them.

Trash the doors, fenders, hatch, carpet, interior and bumpers. Build a cage in it and pop the top. Install lift, tires, lights and winch. Weld the spiders in the diffs. Moshmobile:headbang:

All I have to say is whatever you do to it Scott I'm sure it will be totally rockin! Haven't seen anything from you I didn't drool over.

I agree with ditching the fenders too..though without glass you will defintely be wearing that mud :headbang:

I'm sure it'll be sick and cool whatever it becomes.

For whatever it's worth, I just saw a set of 33" swampers on six lug and a nissan t/c on Craigslist for $300. It's connected to a '75 Datsun with WRX seats Stanwood... if that might somehow fit into this project. http://seattle.craigslist.org/car/152373327.html

What's the budget for this project?

Project almost free: remove all body panels possible, lose all glass, cut off entire roof

Project cheap: above, but weld in roll bar and lift with big tires

yeah thats a good idea. One thing a buddy of mine did, was when he welded the roll cage in his, but took that drop in plastic bedliner and urethane and bolted it on to where the bottom half of the doors used to be. It it that Door sill like a Jeep has. It will keep some water out, and keep trees and ************ from smackin ya in the hips. I like how you did the roof too, just make sure to add the roll cage to the roof section where you made that cut. You flip that thing, that roof section is gonna act like a knife

Do you mean that the blue wagon in the picture is the ACTUAL car you're going to cut up? If I had a wagon with a body that nice I'd make it my daily driver. Actually, it would probably be my wife's daily driver and I'd get to drive her starting-to-rust wagon instead of my Geo.

I've got a really rusty but revivable parts car in NY state I'd trade and you could cut it up

YES

there are so many of those same car in the PNW(color, condition, trans, probaly miles too) that it probably feels good to cut them up. sick of seeing em. lol

Subaru's are unibody, without the roof for structural support you will fold that thing in half.

but with a tube cage welded in there he'd be fine :headbang:
