for a lift kit can I put spacers to lower engine 2" and have 3" strut extentions? without too much issues with the front axles?Thanks in advance.Now that I will be starting a new job I will have money for a lift kit..

yes, a 1" difference is not very much. that's how ALL three lift companies make their lifts.

i have 4" at the motor and struts,3" at the tranny crossmember .fine on angles.

I'm building a 1" drop for the enginesubframe, 5" drop for the struts, redesigned control arms, and new lower subframe to support them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But I'm using a t-case and differential up front.

3" strut extensions with only 2" crossmember extensions will give you more positive (bad) camber.

I suggest getting more clearence via tire sizing.

Depends on how you build you strut extensions. They can be built to compensate for this.

But if you compensate for this in the strut lift you also need that BFH for the strut towers... Not what I like to do to mine nice lttle roo.

Mine actually doesn't have strut tower extensions or even strut towers! It does have full camber adjustment though!

 

BFH, sawsall, welder... I guess my roo's a little less precious :)

 

That's an EA81 hatch engine compartment BTW despite the motor etc.

my 4" AA kit has 4" strut, and 3" engine and tranny....

 

my 3" BYB EA82 kit (first one in the US), has 3" strut, and 2" engine and tranny...
