October 9, 200619 yr i have decided that drifting is not meant for my car....... well not this one. and i should have replaced the blown struts in the rear before i left.......well i probobly should have done alot of things different....
October 9, 200619 yr Wow. Now's a good time to do those rear axles. Anyway as they say "that'll buff right out."
October 9, 200619 yr we're heading up to tahuya this thurs for the weekend .......hope i don't have to do any underbody maint. on the ro-ad like you .........lol.......this will be the maiden voyage for the subie
October 9, 200619 yr And for those who don't have a pit inthe garage, this is what the bottom of your subie looks like.. Poor roo
October 9, 200619 yr oops, i didn't read it fully .. =x but yeah.. good time to replace those struts w/ it on it's side there....
October 9, 200619 yr Author on a up note... no pun intended, he started right up, with a small puff of smoke, and the only fluid loss was mabey a 1/4 cup of break fluid. kinda strange. now the question is do i fix or no? all i care about is function, and the only thing not pullng its weight are the windows ie windsheild(obviously) the pillar behind the drivers door is bent in about an inch and a half, and the rear gate has a 1/4 in. gap,and sinse i bring my 2 yar old son with me sometimes (not last time) i will not put up with exhaust in the car. but mechanically he is good to go, absolutly no alignment probs etc.
October 9, 200619 yr the question is do i fix or no? all i care about is function, . wheel it thats just gives the car charactor Wheel It
October 10, 200619 yr dumb question... but how the hell did you roll in tahyua??? i rolled on the v-notch in reiter... but tahuya... watch your speed on a road... not much real wheeling out there in anything bigger than a quad.
October 10, 200619 yr I think he said "drifting". Lesson learned: lifted rigs are not meant to be drifted.
October 10, 200619 yr Author well you can drift all day if you counter steer, and keep it to a low speed. my brother was behind me and i couldnt see him in the rear view any more, so i tried to slide sideways to a stop, but because of blown struts and honda springs in the rear, i more or less bounced into a roll, ithink on my last bounce i may have landed in a small rut tha didnt help things either. none the less i knew someday i would roll(i like to drive wrecklessly on logging roads if i know the terrain) this time it just ended wreckfully... i thought i woul roll in the snow though, none the less i dont care that i rolled, it was fun.
October 11, 200619 yr Author yeah.. not pretty, but if i can make a windshield fit, i dont care. i am keeping my eye out for a new body tho.
October 11, 200619 yr you dork:drunk: :drunk: and actually there is a ton of trails to be had in tahuya...a Subaru is sorta like a quad, gets in small places, hardly ever gets stuck,etc....
October 12, 200619 yr ah hell.........drop the headliner....port-a-power the windsheild opening back square.....give a couple pushes on the b pillar....open the hatch ,do a cross measurement and port-a-power to square .......simple,
October 13, 200619 yr Author yeah i know, but i am startin a ea81 hatch rig and this one will be my daily. if i can find a feee loyale body ill just do the swap, i have dome it before, and it didnt take that long. engine, trans, lift, running gear, interior, 6 lug etc. plus it is still full of dust all the time from sinking it up to the windshield in mud. my old loyale had fallen off a cliff and i could never get the back to stop leaking exhaust, so i baught the red one and swapped EVERYTHING.
October 13, 200619 yr Author you cant see it in the picture, but the black one sa id "JEEP EATER" in 8 inch letters on the back, it was rad..
