October 11, 200619 yr Has anyone on here installed the duel friction clutch on there car and what were the results?? was it worth the money?? Thanks Andy
October 11, 200619 yr I'd say no by the lack of response. You can use the clutch disk out of any EJ push type clutch in an EA82 clutch. The biggest hurdle is the pressure plate beaing weak.
October 11, 200619 yr The XT6 clutch is plenty strong. There's a member that recently posted about a race clutch that he installed. I think it was a kevlar material. Do a search. GD
October 11, 200619 yr I put a center force clutch in my Toyota Pickup and liked it. Grips better on steep off road hills & such. I think if you're doing a lot of offroading, it's not a bad idea to get something stronger than a stock clutch, but...people seem to have gotten along just fine without them, so..
October 11, 200619 yr Author Reason i ask is becuase they make a DF clutch for the ea81 with the 8 7/8 flywheel but if no one has used one i guess ill have to give it a shot.

October 12, 200619 yr I had my 5 speed d/r flywheel turned to XT6 specs, and bought a xt6 pressure plate and clutch. the XT6 pressure plate is a lot heavier built with more holding power.... works really good....
May 2, 200817 yr If you don't mind rebuilt stuff, Asheville brake and clutch in Asheville, NC has a lot of experince building Subaru stuff. Here is there phone number, (828) 252-6470
May 3, 200817 yr A large electrical contractor I worked for used metallic clutches in all their vehicles. Don’t know if they are still available but they did work great.
