October 19, 200619 yr Alright. I've tried the forum searches and everything and cannot find any info. I've heard that you can swap the rear diff on the EA series cars to the front. What does this entail:confused: ??? I'd sure like to have a front LSD w/o spending bookoo bucks on it so maybe I'll just put another rear diff in the front. I'm going to be lifting my EA81 wagon atleast 4 inches to start with so............ Any help would be greatly appreciated.
October 19, 200619 yr You can't actually. The rear diff uses eight bolts to attach the ring gear to the diff, while the front uses 12.
October 19, 200619 yr the only way to use a rear diff in the front, is to put at least 6" of custom lift into the car, and put a divorced (usually nissan, but suzuki would work too) transfer case behind your stock transmission. then mount a rear diff under the transmission/engine. BUT, if you swap to a 5-speed transmission, any aftermarket front LSD for a newer 5-speed (i.e. WRX) would work just fine. you'd probably also have to swap the inner joints on your axles, since the spline count would be different...but it could be done.

Does this include the d/r 5 speeds?
October 23, 200619 yr he said with out spending "bookoo bucks".Ie he is short on the cash flow... I know, it's cheaper to going divorced tcase. and certainly easier!
