cup holders

Featured Replies

What do people do for cup holders? I hate those cheap ones that you shove down into the window well. What are the options? Just set my coffee on the dash and be real careful?

i have an impreza cup holder like the last poster linked to a picture of. i'm going to install it in my XT6 like he did in his.

Cool, thanks. That should give me enough ideas to figure something out.

that'd be cool if it did. The only one of those others that would work is the one in the vent. My e-brake and 4WD lever get in the way of putting one anywhere else on my console.

This is what I've got in my rigs.

The top is one is a little bit of a pia trying to adjust the volume of the radio, but if the passenger wants a cupholder, thats what they get.

I have Turbone's 2nd option above. Works like a charm.

I was going to put the cupholder in my stereo install kit...

For the record, crutchfield sells the install kit with the plastic face plate that allows for the trip computer to be mounted on the shide, where it went originally, AND a DIN stereo, AND the cupholder. the cupholder has to go below the stereo, though.. (I Think.. must investigate) I got one out of an early 90s toyota corolla.

yeah the stereo might get a little sticky if you're not careful, but the liquid seems to splash out towards me instead of forward. i guess we'll see in the near future.

also, i just flipped the stereo install kit upside down cause before i replaced my worn out shifter linkage, the shifter would go to far forward to let me put it under the stereo.

The very last photo post on that cup holder thread seems like the best option. All the ones on the consoles will not work on my car, no room in there for anything, it's really busy between the 4wd lever and e brake. I'll have to look around at some stores

with the trip computer one, you dont have the option of flipping it.. but i AM going to have to cut most of the face out of it anyhow, so I will have to consider placing the cupholder on top....

I usually have a travel mug I use for soda etc anyhow, so spillage should be minimal to nil, as long as i dont top off.

I just place the drink behind the 4WD select lever and next to the parking brake (this is an EA82 btw). It holds things just fine
