November 23, 200322 yr we just got back from Yakima, and along Canyon Road, we decided to take a little trip thru the river! it was fun.... pics are in the album- http://usmb.net/albums/albuo36/DSCN1301.jpg
November 23, 200322 yr Thats one shallow river! Ur crazy Ausin, simply insane. Cool pic though! I wish u woulda taken me...
November 23, 200322 yr Hey nice pic Austin! Should have parked it and done some fly fishing from the roof. Lots of blue ribbon trout in that stream. Of course the wildlife occifer might not think it's cool, but hey it's a Subaru thing.
November 23, 200322 yr that screams Subaru calendar could I use it austin along with some other pics?
November 23, 200322 yr That's a nice pic Man. Hey - if you want a calendar pic - check this out: http://usmb.net/gallery/albup19/puddle_run I thought it was cool anyway. I've got a bigger version if you did by chance want to use it. GD
November 23, 200322 yr I definitely agree about the crazy part!! Allow me to say this however: If I drove across something like that with one of my Scoobs, I would be so proud I'd probably NEVER get rid of it!
November 23, 200322 yr Good thing you can both swim! I can't wait to win the lotto so that I'll have time to go on trips like that with you guys. But of course, the other half of my brain is telling me that I would have been scared to death even watching it. I guess I'm glad I didn't go Thanks for taking pictures though so I can off-road vicariously from my swivel chair. ~Connie
November 23, 200322 yr It's legal as long as it isn't a restricted area and the vehicle is registered with the proper branch of the DMV. And remember to use your signals Thanks for the pic. I set my Mac's desktop to it for the backgroud picture, hope you don't mind. I would definitely spring for a calendar if you put that picture (and the one of GD's wagon) in it.
November 23, 200322 yr On the legality issue, I've been told by multiple Forest Circus employees that driving in rivers is a definite no-no. As in huge tickets. Something to do with endangered species, spawning beds and such. So like have fun, just don't get stuck or get caught. I've also heard that tow truck drivers are supposed to report you if they gotta haul you out of a river.

November 24, 200322 yr Post # 100 here I come!!! I actually talked to a state trooper about this after his son showed him the video of us crossing the river up Lake Isabel trail. He said its called a hydro violation. He didnt care. Cool guy.
November 24, 200322 yr maybe it's because his own son was involved I've met cops on illegal trails etc a few times, stopped and chatted, and the cops go their way pretending they never saw me. However if they get a complaint they have to act on it. Kind of related, Once my friends and I met a cop up in the woods on a closed off trail, who had been called to investigate mysterious bones that a hiker had reported. The ******* hiker didn't realize that people hunt around there, and that they were obviously deer bones not human The cop knew what they were but the hiker was right there so he played it up as if it were a possible lead to the Jessica Adkins disappearance. He was barely able to contain himself. He wasn't even bagging them though, just chucking them in the trunk! It was almost like a scene from Super Troopers
