Nope... I have to skip this one... I got a new job and cannot get the time off right away... I'll be back 2008 though.

I've been looking for a good fcd, what would you recommend with an easy instalation. The home made one ilustated on legacy central is more than I want to attempt

Since I've got my coupe running, more or less properly, You guys think I could get it to around 140hp pretty easily? Or should I take the time to drop an EJ22 into it? (You'd be surprised at how many there are up here, without cars attached) No, this isn't a, zomg tell me how 2 mak mah carrr fast! Just curious if the investment would be fit on something else entirely :) (And yes, I know I probably should have searched, but I'm off to bed soon)

You are only asking for 25 - 35hp more than you have stock. Header, exhaust and intercooler should be able to give you that without turning up the boost. Give your car a full tune-up and send your fuel injectors out to be cleaned (Ex: RC Engineering). Make sure your cooling system is up to par and enjoy driving.

I decided to go for a spin in it today. 60 miles overall, cruising at 75. No problems, ran like a champ. I'll see about new exhaust when I can afford it as I have $1000 in bills and $400 check :\

if you slap an intercooler on your Stock EA-82T without uping the boost level, it would be slower because of the added lag time to charge the inter cooler, and after the lag there is a slight (very slight) boost drop after the intercooler, so just up it a couple pounds.

Easy 140HP in an EA82:

carbon fiber wing = $200

rice muffler = $25

carbon fiber shift knob = $15

decals = $4 each

That would only apply if you were using an IC the size of a damned house.

How much extra time do think it takes to pressurize something the size of a WRX IC?

If the difference in lag time is more than 1/2 second with and without IC, I would be very surprised. Not to mention that LARGE intercoolers rarely produce more than 1 PSI drop.. And I mean Ford F650 large.

i just put a FMIC on my car. granted it is an EJ20G but there was hardly any added lag and no boost drop. and my intercooler is almost as large as a house...

When u can afford it? Go to Pep Boys or Autozone. Get yourself a cheap muffler (None of the louvered [sp?] core ones). That'll be a few bucks! Take it to Meineke, Midas, etc and get yourself some custom cat back piping made up. I think mine cost $80.00 to be done. Here are some pics-->

Intercooler gives a torque 'boost' at low rpms. It then tapers off to where the stock torque is at higher rpms. At least from my experience->

Short Time Ago, I Read in Other Thread, that Those Kind of "Upgrades" are from "Ricers" ...

thanks for posting a dyno run!!!!!! oh and sorry for the post hijack, at least it seems where this is going...

Seem like it would be cheaper and easier to install NOS

Sure if you like blowing sh*t up.

NOS idea was ALSO meant as a joke!

installing a 283 chevy v8 would probably be as practical
