September 19, 200718 yr GCK SB8004 halfshafts finally available on amazon.com for $50  ordered two last night
September 19, 200718 yr i wonder how handling warranties will work through amazon? killer price though way less then autozone. I wonder if autozone will price match with amazon
September 19, 200718 yr I have a torn boot on one of mine that I bought off the net. I asked the guy at Auto Zone if they would do the warrenty and he said they would work some thing out to get it taken care of. That might not go for all AZs but I do alot of business with mine. Tim
September 20, 200718 yr my local autozone could not order them , and went to there web site same thing
September 20, 200718 yr Hmmmm, went to amazon.com and couldn't find the axles. I have a new one in the box on my back seat. I'll gladly return it (GCK axle) to AZ if I can save $50 and buy from amazon. I'll look again. My left side is clicking away pretty good.
September 20, 200718 yr this might sound like a dumb question but is half shaft the whole shaft. Im not totally dense i realize that there are 2 sides but i guess i was under the impression that half shaft was only the outer half that connects to the wheel hub. Ben

September 21, 200718 yr Thanks for posting this, I just ordered two for my hatch! They have a good catalog on the site. http://www.gck.com/
September 21, 200718 yr i wish i had the spare bucks for my wagon. I could use one for each side. There both clicking. Hopefully they still have this deal in a couple months. Ben
September 21, 200718 yr I was only gonna buy one for my brat, but I figured for half price, I might as well get two.... and never have to change them again (for a long time)
September 25, 200718 yr Is GCK one of the better brands for axles, or just the common one? There are only 3 types of cv shafts you use to replace your broken ones gck - fully rebuilt to even higher oem specs better then new mwe - fully rebuilt to factory specs better then new oem subaru - factory specs brand new ask anyone in here. the part store brand name shafts arent worth anything. Youll just end up replaceing them again in the long run. I mean in the short run because thell start clicking soon after you replace them. Ben
September 26, 200718 yr I was under the impression that the GCK were new, not rebuilt. You would be correct. GCK axles are NEW, but they are reengineered to a higher level of performance then OEM.
September 26, 200718 yr I just got mine last night! The CV is built with such close tolerances that you can bend it and it will STAY until you push it back. At 49 bucks a pop AND free shipping .....thats cheaper than NAPA "Snap-Off" brand (AND no core) Definitely a GREAT buy.... you just dont appreciate until youve held one!
September 26, 200718 yr I've been telling people how good these are for the last four years and finally people are listening! Amazing axles - no competition in quality or price. GD
September 26, 200718 yr I've looked through hundreds of amazon results to no avail; anyone have a link? I need a few of these for the Brat. Edit - Nevermind, just searched using the part number in the first post and it came right up. Yippee!!

September 27, 200718 yr if you've ever seen a brand new NTN halfshaft (OE supplier for subaru and many japanese auto makers) you'll see why everyone loves these GCK axles I've rebuild several axles using GCK outers and oe inners and shaft, they take a beating..they are NOT as good as brand new NTNs tho'..they last forever if you pack em every other year..I took apart a '99 impreza NTN oe axle last year and the *gosh darn thing* (edit for cussing nanny) was STILL tight... grease in inboard joint had failed as well as the boot, outer joint was in perfect condition.... Kaz PS u can't get NTNs for 50 bucks tho' damn good deal
