What plug wires to get....

Featured Replies

yeah, yeah, I know, OEM...

what I mean is.....

I've got a de-stroked and turbo'd ej25 with a ej20G intake manifold that sits up higher than at least the ej22t intake does... and my coil pack is mounted on top of the manifold...

anyway, I have a set of '97 OBW wires on it now, but there are *just* barely long enough. there is no slack in wire #4.

does anybody know if the WRX wires are longer?

I have the same issue with the 97 oem wires, and the motor uses the regular NA manifold...

Anyway, the WRX wires are a bit longer so it might be worth a try.

WRX is coil on plug ignition. No wires.

The problem with the OEM wires being a little on the short side is standard on the '97's.

Magnacore are the other wires that are recommended here.

magnecor wires rock, they're great stuff. worth a call if you want an entirely new set anyway. don't know if the EJ stuff is longer, but worth a call. i think you can call magnecor directly and talk to them.

Wow, I feel very silly aboot this. :o

Mick I would suggest buying a msd build it yourself wire kit. I did that for my hatch and they are great and then you can make them whatever length you want. Usually only come in a v8 kit though. Besides you could make another and sell it.:burnout:

You realize that the OEM kit has a longer wire for the #4 cylinder right? I found out the hard way too!

You might need the wire set for an older JDM wrx. They had the coil on top of the intake.
