December 18, 200322 yr Well, i figured i should finally get off my tucus and do some work on the wagon. Its been sitting out front for too long. For those that dont know, i hit a telephone pole and crumpled the front passenger side fender. Here's the 1st pic, after the accident: and this is today in the garage... Before: and after: Took alot of pounding. I also used a chain and anchored the sube to my parents jeep, and used reverse on the sube to pull most of it out. Tomorrow i head to the junkyard for a fender and hood and headlight assembly. More pictures here: http://usmb.net/gallery/album100 -Brian
December 18, 200322 yr Looks good Brian. Let me know if I can help you out. I probably have some parts you need. Later - Chris
December 18, 200322 yr Author Going to try to finish it up tomorrow, and wouldnt want to make anybody ship something at this time of the year. Im sure the post office is packed and will be until Jan The junkyard im going to usually has at least 20 to 30 EA81's to pick from. I figure i'd have a better chance of matching the paint code there. -Brian
December 31, 200322 yr Author Well... got the fender and headlight assembly mounted. It almost looks as good as new, except for the huge wrinkle in the hood. Pix! and -Brian
December 31, 200322 yr Now it's time for a custom bumper!!!! You could incorporate your brushguard into the new bumper also. Scott
December 31, 200322 yr Author Yup, combo Bumper/Brushguard go next. Im having Tony (Soobme) make it for me, and ive been comming up with custom designs and dimensions for him. -Brian
December 31, 200322 yr Looking good!! Even with the bent hood. Every true warrior has atleast one battle scar!!!
December 31, 200322 yr Author Im thinking of cutting that section of the hood out and putting my snorkel there. Or just put another hood on -Brian
December 31, 200322 yr Bash the other side in and make it look like a factory option? Some Hood Pins would fit nice in those depressions. Lookin good Brian! ( I'm not sure but, think I saw part of your engine under all that mud ) Glenn, 82 Summer, almost wired.... 01 Forester, bent but not broken.........
January 1, 200422 yr Nice work Brian, looks good. To bad the car you got the fender from didn't have a decent hood.
January 1, 200422 yr Author yeah, the donor car had a straight hood, but the hood had a couple rust spots. So i skipped the hood. Im thinking of finding a perfect white hood, and then painting something on it. -Brian
January 1, 200422 yr Brian that good idea for Toni to make you bumper, we held Mudrat79's custom bumper/guard to my wagon and it looked AWESOME, since i got my fenders cut and wheels/tires i think it is coming time soon for a set of bumbers:banana: Sean
January 1, 200422 yr Author Yeah, ive been talking with Toni about the design of the bumper. I would preffer tube frame, but square might be stronger and look better. Hopefully he has those pumps he was using before, and maybe i can get my onboard air and bumpers at the same time. Regardless, i need to drive up there to pick it all up... so that will give me an oportunity to meet the new crew up north -Brian
