April 23, 200817 yr so i was wondering what's a good sounding muffler. nice tone, Loud, but not omg i hear you from 4 blocks away at 3 am honda civic loud. does anybody have some sound clips?
April 23, 200817 yr but not omg i hear you from 4 blocks away at 3 am honda civic loud. you know i've thought about throwing a cannon on just to see what it would sound like on my '83 wagon i've also considered getting a cherry bomb glass pack. but i would imagine that a flowmaster or anything similar would sound decent. have you thought about going straight-pipe or would you not be able to pass emissions?
April 23, 200817 yr the "cherry bomb" glasspacks usually sound like crap. but a nice Thrush glasspack. sounds pretty decent in place of the stock muffler.
April 23, 200817 yr I have a dynomax super turbo muffler and it sounds good. Nice and quiet at idle and then when you get on it...its loud.
April 23, 200817 yr dynomax mufflers are nice. not too loud, do the trick, and sound nice. a number of us on the xt forums have them in our XT6's. +mpg highway driving in an XT6 too!

April 23, 200817 yr It depends on what you want i guess. My muffler rotted off and i havent replaced it yet. It doesnt sound bad but id rather have it sound quiet at this point in my life. it isnt a sports car. Ben
April 23, 200817 yr i put a bosal "brospeed" flow thru muffler on my 87 wagon, kept 1 cat (at the y pipe) and it has a very mellow throbbing STI-ish sound to it. i love it, the XT6 i just bought has a flowmaster on it, and i don't like it nearly as much, doesn't give you that signature soobie sound . . .:cool: my.02 chris
April 24, 200817 yr Author i was thinking a dynomax 17702 it dosnt seem to be too expensive and sounds pretty good. i heard a GL carbie on youtube. i guess what im really lookin for is a muffler that produces a nice "boxer" Growl. loud is ok i guess. im still young haah
