What's a Headlamp "Motor"?

Featured Replies

It's a motor for a headlamp.

heheh. Probably for an XT4/6; they have pop-up headlights.

Its a motor that is sued to open or close hidden headlights or the passing 3rd eye. They can be electric or vacume operated. I dont know which onw sooby uses, as i never had a need to replace one.

nipper

82 "third eye" passing light. Looks to have a vacuum hose at the bottom to me.

Yeah XT's and XT6's have electric head light motors to open/close the headlights.

That's something else I'd like to put on my Brat...but I don't think I can with the new grill etc.

I think Monstaru did the 3rd eye mod to his 83+ BRAT. But, don't hold me to it.

If you have a 4-headlight car, you'll have to cut the grille around the door. I've seen it done and looking good so it's possible.

I think the hose is actually a drain hose for water vapor that can end up in the light... the door is powered by a motor and a mechanical arm.

never did it.and i had an 86 brat.i went with what you have now jason.i liked it better.if you can find one of the independent grills out there it could be grafted to the existing piece. or you could just cut a hole ,like the man said.cheers, brian

Yeah I think I'm good, I mean it would be cool to have just for the rarity factor but I really like the setup I have!:banana:
