sub_dont_touch Posted February 22, 2009 Share Posted February 22, 2009 Every time my 1994 EJ18 Impreza is on empty and just about to run out. I seem to get quite a bit of power that I don't see normally even when I have under a 1/4 of a tank. So that means that it can't be a weight issue. Could this mean a bad fuel pump or something? Can be the fact your car is thirsty and in a rush to get to its "water fountain" . Don't you always run faster after a workout when you know the bevergae of your choice is there waitng for you, tempting and taunting you? edrach Posted February 23, 2009 Share Posted February 23, 2009 What size tires do you run? My '94 EJ18 sedan ran fastest on 14" rims; like a stone on 16" rims. I never noticed a difference with different amounts of gas in the tank. Maybe the slight forward shift of weight to the front makes a difference. abog Posted February 23, 2009 Share Posted February 23, 2009 If it were leaning out from fuel starvation, or if it were running rich and just clearing out, wouldn't there be some other symptoms? hesitation, bucking, possible CEL, O2 codes?
