February 26, 200917 yr Some scum bag dented my rear door with a shopping cart at home depot. I used that pop's a dent and it sort of worked. However, I'm having a difficult time getting all of the glue off the door. Any ideas? Thanks.
February 26, 200917 yr Maybe a tar removal product, but make sure it is meant for use on cars. Try to stay away from laquer thinner or strong solvents that may take off your paint.
February 27, 200917 yr or how about this....how do you get gum out of the kid's hair...ice cubes. If heat won't soften it, how about making it harder?
February 27, 200917 yr Try a product called "Goo be gone." It is a citrus based product. Great for taking adhesive sales labels off newly bought retail items. Might work well with your application.
February 28, 200917 yr try plain old vinegar and water(50/50 in a spray bottle, or 409 spray, or corn oil works too.
February 28, 200917 yr Author or how about this....how do you get gum out of the kid's hair...ice cubes. If heat won't soften it, how about making it harder? It's been pretty cold in Seattle the last few days. I've made some progress. I'll go find the goo be gone stuff & let you all know. Thanks. Argh!

March 4, 200917 yr Author It warmed up the other day so I tried the WD-40 again. It finally worked...but on closer inspection the pops a dent did not work very well. I'll try it again.
March 4, 200917 yr another product is "Goof-off" - similar to Goo-b-gone, but works a bit better imho. have used it many times on big trucks, removing old stickers & lettering - no problems with it harming the finish, altho it does leave a slightly oily residue that will need to be washed off.
