March 7, 200917 yr hay, we just put ea81 springs in our 99 outback struts and it works awesome ! anyone else try this ?
March 7, 200917 yr So this makes me wonder if newer style springs will fit in old style struts, for instance, I have a set of WRX springs, would they fit into a set of EA82 struts? And would they be too stiff?
March 8, 200917 yr Author ok i have all the picture , step bu step. they are on my buddies camera. i will get them up soon. we are going to do the fronts but first need to find shorter springs or cut the ea spring down a bit. we got at least 3" lift
March 10, 200917 yr what did you do with the spring seat? is it just sitting in there all willy nilly? probably not a problem as a lot of 'coilover kits' do that with collars... i'm also assuming this was for the front? what about the rear? more ea81 springs?
March 10, 200917 yr if you got 3" out of the outback struts with the ea81 springs aren't the struts topped out when on the car? you wouldn't have any rebound, every time you hit a bump the tires would come off the ground because you wouldn't have the extra travel to absorb the bumps.:-\
March 26, 200917 yr Hey! I thought we were going to get detailed photos and step-by-step instructions!
March 26, 200917 yr Author sorry i am waiting for my friend to get back from medford with the pictures.. the lift works great, plenty of travel up and down.
