Backing plates replacement help!!
konrad/soo replied to swordsmanrex's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXbacking plates- those behind the rotors??? when i went for inspection the guy told me to replace those on rear end, i couldnt get those and a dealership gave me a price of 200$:-\. the thing that was "rusted out" was a kind of sheild, to "protect" the rotor. the back plate looked good,so i just took a big screwdriver and got rid of the rusted part.so check out if it's the plate rusted or just the litlle thing around the rotor. take care

SMOKE on left and/or right turns
on my '92 legacy EJ22,when i take sharp left or right turns, not even going fast(20 mph),theres a huge cloud of smoke behind me :-\ ,once i go straight its ok, and when i rev it up the blue(oil) cloud is up in the air and the car is burning lots of oil like 500 ml(pint?) per 200 miles, so thats not good, i've put in some " smoke reducer + stop leak" but it dosent work,.. i'll be taking the engine out, because i need to do the clutch, any ideas what i can change in the engine while its out?? take care

gas problem
konrad/soo replied to konrad/soo's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXyeah, those are the metal ones:( i was thinking of putting a rubber hose on the metal one but theres not much space to do that... what im thinking about is to take an angle grinder and just cut out some metal underneath the seets, and take it from there, or fliping the car on a side and then pull out the gas tank,... what to you think about that?? thanks and take care

Why do people hate Loyales?
Loyals are the best! i have '89, 5 spd D/R, w/ LSD, EA 82 MPFI, i've been driving it for almost 3 years, havent put many miles(6000), but 2.5 year 100% off-road(and my top speed was 60 mph ), i had to change 2 things: the alt and the radiator(after hitting some trees/bushes). and other than that it's one of best cars(only russian military trucks are better, but not in everything ). so i'm after loyals!!! take care

LPG Conversion
i haven't done that at my place, because thats illegal!i got my 89' loyal converted to LPG but in a shop(it costed me like 500$),its a MPFI so its sweaching to LPG automaticly, its burning more LPG than gas, but its 2 times cheaper so i'm happy, the spark-plugs a a bi** to unscrew, but you can do it,i have no more info as far as instaling the thing, but as far as driving on LPG im in the topic, take care

tire size
I've 185/70 13R on my 89 loyal and they are working fine, one more thing you should check is the rim, make sure they're 5 J(wide, those are the numbers on the rim), because the older ones were 4,5 J,so it's not good to put wider tires, the middle of the tire will get bald before the rest of it, tire would look like this ( , and you want it to be like this [ , take care
