  1. legacy 94 sport sedan 52" 98 Impreza RS 46" 91 CRX Si. 40" But the wing tapers some on the RS, so it is wider at the front and 46 at back. there you have it.
  2. why would a pnw'er need this ? sorry for the rust belt death. once it hits that bad ship one in from west coast.
  3. please post a pic of when you have the left front supported by a jackstand, and the frame rail center. ps the shock towers are toasted, basically not close to safe to drive. You have lots of money to fix, like 2-3g to fix that to safe. \your 600 dollar brat will cost more than a solid 2g brat on ebay to run and drive it.
  4. Hold off until you get a different alternator in there......
  5. its very doubtful his timing just went off, simply by replacing a valve cover gasket. if you read how his problem started, he had a oil leak so he replaced the valve cover gasket. While the airbox was out, and off, Ben cleaned the maf. It was running fine until those 2 things were done. Now, how would the timing go off. I think its maf related. If he had not cleaned the maf, his car would be fine. Maf is dead perhaps. I read he then tried cleaning the maf again, maybe that was the death blow to the sensor in the maf.
  6. well, trust me, going from about 6 or so Turbo Legacies, to a CA spec BRAT, i was like, huh. hills sucks, passing is thought to not even try, etc. no fears, still got a ej22t longblock and the crossmember sitting on the shelf with only 85k on it, but there are no mechanical problems on the old brats ea81, and it doesnt use or leak oil etc, only 129k on it. I have replaced the stock CA spec hitachi with a Weber, and it is still gutless, but i was able to pass a ea82 going 75 and we both had 27.5 inch tall offroads on and lift.
  7. GD is right, but 91 parts will go on a 92-94 if you switch everything, which everything is: Grille, bumper and beam, headlights, fenders, hood, corner lights. 92-94 will go on a 91 if you switch everything, which is: Grille, bumper and beam, headlights, fenders, hood, corner lights. It is said the front radiator support is the same, but for sure bumper beams, etc are a different setup. You could physically bolt the 92-94 hood on a 91, but when you attempt to close the hood shut, you will see the mismatch lineupd of everything from the grill to the headlights. And you cant just swap grill and headlights too, cause then they won't fit the bumper.
  8. Your town in Idaho has 3000 more people than my town has. We don't have a gas station, just a post office, volunteer fire dept, and a Bar, no stoplights, no school, no grocery no convenient store.
  9. even with the low miles, that BRAT has lots of upper frame rot i can see in the picture on the right side rocker. I bet the frame is shot under the frame rails, at least up front. Be cautious of any work until you see how bad the rot is. Yeah low miles is worth something, but i just scavenge / try to go for bodies that are solid these days cause i seen too many rotted. Post some pictures of the frame rails up under the rocker panels, to where they arch up to the cowl area. I hope its solid though cause 600 is a lot if not.
  10. I would hit Dennis up for a fuel pump.
  11. you mess with high pressure fuel, have fire extenguisher near, and escape route. could be it but that is just too odd to have it occur when you were messing with maf and valve cover air box. I saw the pic, airbox off for filter, bet its something like a hose there. If you have a working fuel pump, you will have fuel everywhere, so have a catch can and be careful.
  12. well the short list of must haves: replace windshield get exhaust with cats and 02's right now it has no 02 and it throws like 9 codes airbag light intermittent on, non horn, seems like clock spring as the light has stayed off a few times. front struts are VERY DEAD. It was not well maintained. rust and dents it does have newer clutch and newer brakes and tires are quite good.
  13. did title papers to me Friday. Still dont have the cash to do much more on it yet. It is debateable to part out, or fix and sell.
  14. I have some spare tires to trade for the pugs... Ben. I think maybe you killed the MAF. There should be one at wrench n go still. Up near the fence. Don't spray a maf unless you have received a maf code, they are fragile so you might have killed it the first time you sprayed it. what did you clean it with? MAF or brake cleaner. I hope you have this sorted out later today. I have spare mafs, for the ej22 series. cheers.
  15. There is much argument on why Subaru did not put tmic on the early cars, all the the up to say 1994 Turbo legacy. The argument goes, it can alow for higher boost if it is cool. But they tend to heatsoak, and then you have hotter air in the intake system. Subaru designed without to keep the air a constant temp. These can be like toasters in hotter summer days. It is probably best to not go with the smaller stuff they tend to heatsoak fastest. For best, go with front mount up by the bumper. Second best in probably the larger ones from the WRX, or watercooled from the older jdm ones. Third best is stock, nothing. 4th best if is the smaller Saab heatsoak stuff. I dont want to knock your want for more boost and power, but please research as much before you invest in something that in the summer, may not work sufficiently. There are always 2 sides to mods.
  16. I have always said more need to bring west coast cars back, its lot cheaper that battling the rust to make them nice. To repairs sut right, and then paint the car, cost over 1500 just in painting, not to mention labor. Those are by no means oem subaru wheels. Nice clean wagon and at a very affordable price, did you ship or drive it back?
  17. out with the coffee can mod lol seen here. yes and it was loud whistling when idle. back in with this: and i also sourced the scoop under covers from the same member and installed them as well seen here now, just the exhaust left for back to stock. Rust repair to start when i get some funds. Looks like my camera date proved we make it to 2012 and for fun lol
  18. you really need a lsd. save up they go for 250 or more
  19. I would be interested in the scoop for my 94SS as well if they are not too pricey. Wouldnt want to miss out on a batch of them.
  20. All my Subarus with frameless windows have badly scratched glass from non-secured up and down over the years. The new frames will prevent scratching because they stabilize the glass. Good job Subaru for fixing this problem of scratched side windows from the start. Thanks for listening to our legit gripes over the years. Now, please come out with the FWD with push button to AWD switch, and let us get 45mpg when in FWD mode, please listen SOA,
