  1. Thats the idea, Rick. I am not expecting too much performance out of a N/A EJ22. Will I get any boxer rumble out of it?
  2. Stock exhaust is rusted badly, and the STi exhaust is going to cost me nothing but time. Figured it would be worth a shot.
  3. I have access to an STi exhaust from the midpipe back as seen in attached photo. What is the probability that it will cooperate with my 91 Legacy? Already heard hangers are an issue and have access to some Kart Boy extended hangers.
  4. Just got done putting them on, used EA81 lugs off my BRAT and Hatch. Need to do some work to the girl: drivers side CV, passenger wheel bearing, back brake is dragging. Has a hell of a heater, Enjoy.
  5. I can't wait to see one in person myself; of course they will be harder to pick out in traffic than the 05 STi was.
  6. I got the standard "fits datsun" key thing and got a spare one already for my legacy. Just wondering if they still carried them, guess ill just call and see on Monday morning.
  7. That was my initial thought as well, just wanted to save myself some trouble since I got laughed at when calling about a blank key for an EA81 once.
  8. I have been thinking about picking up one for my BRAT that says: "83 BRAT" but i don't know if I want to shell out the extra cash for it though.
  9. Does anyone know if they still carry an OEM key for the first gen Legacy? Will be at the dealership next week when my buddy is getting his timing belt changed on his WRX and thinking of picking one up. Thanks, Kyle.
  10. Did you set the carb up like shown in the directions? Sounds like you might not have the mixture screw where it needs to be. I printed this off and used it when setting mine up after doing intake gaskets. http://www.redlineweber.com/html/Tech/carburetor_set_up_and_lean_best_.htm
  11. Probably be the only one you see the entire trip.
  12. Dude had it all replaced from the cat back when I bought it like a week prior. With the back glass open and shifting I can hear a slight boxer rumble out the back. Hard to really hear much of the EA81, he's got a loud Apex-i exhaust on that thing. Those wheels are the ones that are on the black center-fold WRX in the 05 brochure. I am very excited about getting these wheels on; Should be doing that this weekend. Will have pics uploaded then as well as what the tires look like thats currently on it. Kyle.
  13. Well then, I guess since my ignition switch is so wore out that I can remove it after starting and also start it with my legacy key that I might be able to get it to work on my brat. Gonna ask my old man for one of these for Christmas.
  14. If your coming through Tennessee thats my neck of the woods, stop by say hey.
  15. Can you post some pics of the STi key next to the original EA82 key?
  16. Gonna go ahead and mention the importance of using an OEM thermostat.
  17. I checked mine today. JF2AT53B1DE503147--5/83 285017 JF2AT53B3DE503151--5/83 286318 (Have to check VIN on hatch) 4/84 532282
  18. Set out today in the early A.M. with a major sinus infection. It rained today pretty much exactly like the day I went and got my BRAT. Met up with my WRX buddy who knows this guy and we went to meet him; Wheels and tires with enough tread left, for free! Here is some pics from today: Here is what the tread looks like: Here is my 91 Legacy: Here is some of my buddies WRX with me in the BRAT:
  19. How much would we be talking, like $400 a set? I just scored a free set of WRX wheels and it got me to thinking....
  20. Thanks for all the replies fellas. I am excited about getting these wheels tomorrow and will post some pics of them when I get a chance. Dude said they came on his legacy wagon and wanted them out of his garage being that he didn't like them. So they are going on my 91 legacy that has bald tires and going to go with that.
  21. My BRAT did this on the 234K gauge cluster that I just took out. Apparently the oil or something in the tach is not present after 24 years of driving and it takes a while before the tach can get up there. It used to take mine 20 minutes before it would act normal and bugged the crap out of me. I switched mine to one with 60k and it only does it for a second now. I don't think its that big of an issue just having to wait and let it warm up. I remember seeing a thread where you can re-lube it but it doesn't take much to do it oil wise. Kyle.
  22. Part of owning a 20 year old car,a majority of us realized this a long time ago.
  23. This is my first question on this side of the board so here it goes. Guy I know has a set of WRX wheels that he wants gone so I will be going to get them this weekend and plan on putting them on my 91 Legacy. Will I need to get different lug nuts for it from the dealership so that they can fit on the legacy?
  24. I am so jealous of you guys. The most snow we get here is about 4 inches a year, all it does is rain.
