  1. My car - when the MAF first started going bad - did something rather similar to what you described. It just felt like a minor...burp in the system if you will. It would be driving along and a quick jerk and back to normal again.
  2. Sounds like the wheel is hitting on something....check out your dust shields and what not around your wheels. It sounds like metal on metal somewhere up front...
  3. One number I heard was when you have the A/C on, you lose about 30hp. Maybe that was a gross overestimate, but on my NA 2.2 Legacy with 130hp, it certainly felt like a 30hp loss.
  4. Knock sensors on all the EJ series engines (except the EG33) are really....really easy. Rediculously easy.
  5. That's AWD too AFAIK. You've had so many problems with that car...funny for it to be so nice to you.
  6. The computer varies the split. Most of the time it's 90/10, but it can be up to 50/50.
  7. I don't see why not. The manual says 87 so use it. BTW, both those gases are unleaded.
  8. http://www.endwrench.com/pdf/feb2004pdf/4EAT.pdf
  9. The ABS unit is under the hood in the front right behind the right front headlamp.
  10. I think the control box for the belts is under the passenger seat. It might be worth your time to reset it by unplugging and replugging it back in.
  11. Still though, as far as I know, you just need to swap the stalk out with one that has what you want. The stalk controls the movement of the motor that runs the wipers.
  12. AFAIK, it only takes a change of the control stalk. It doesn't require anything else.
  13. Like I said before, a bad cat would give off an odor nobody could miss. There's no reason to be reaching under the car in the chance of burning yourself.
  14. Bucking is almost always associated with MAF troubles.
  15. A clogged cat would produce a pungent smell you couldn't miss.
  16. I bet there's one or two broken sensors that are causing all those other codes to be thrown.
  17. Dragging caliper or wheel bearing....
  18. Never heard of a "PCM" going bad on a Subaru. Heard plenty of things about O2 sensors and VSS (speed senors) going bad though.
  19. I make almost every nut I come to as tight as I can make it so it won't come off. Works every time.
  20. Try to find a Subaru on there with frameless windows. I dare ya :-p
