  1. Looking like Rt.8 to Mass. Pike - FYI Jesse and whoever cares. About 2:45 for my ride. A lot like when we hit NJ. Probably take the taconic on the way back for kicks.
  2. Probably a little late to post but if per chance you and your car/truck apply please consider attending. Check the Historic forum for details. Just east of Albany NY is all I can say for now. Contact MikeHamm who also is involved in ice racing and I think the finger lakes rally group too. Mike will give you the meeting place. It's very close to the MA border northwest of Pittsfield MA. I'll be there in my 1978 4WD Wagon. Subafreak is brining a Gen II brat. Will be Nissan and others along. Either way we finally have a vintage run on the east coast !! I'm sure you hod caws will laugh. It'll be light duty for me. Just good honest exercise for the pony. Cheers!
  3. No sweat , get better soon!! I'm looking to mostly contact Nollie in NC , incase you thought I meant you. Just need his address and get the guys from Israel to pay and the gaskets are 100% done. I hope all goes well for you. Take care,

    Paul

  5. Anyone near I-5 Auto in Chehalis WA ?? Shows a tank for $35. Just spoke to them and they will NOT ship a tank. If someone wants to grab this and ship it to me I'd pay well. Thanks
  6. Or you can be a poser and tell all the chicks your motor home is down in Key Largo or somewhere like that ..... That actually looks cool just being that it sits tight to the body and should stop bullets and mid-sized sedans without a problem.
  7. Let's hope nobody sees this from People For Ethical Treatment of Rocks Thanks for your effort!!!!!
  8. But the gas tank they ruptured as most yards do .....
  9. Looking forward to this small pack of small 4wd-ers. Can't wait to see pics of this spectacle. make that big grin !!!!
  10. Got my email kicked back. I'm at moosens at yahoo dot com Thanks!
  11. I think my exhaust is awful low in the center. Going to have to be careful and hope for the best. Email coming.
  12. Yeah , might be a few of us getting parts thru Ricearu. When things get sorted at my storage I will be able to help you some.
  13. Mine is an "L" too but yes I was thinking it's typical that tails are there. Just like every Subaru there's always unused connectors. I'll wire them up in the spring if that's the case. Thanks guys.
  14. Its in Milford CT now at the BACK of my storage due to frustration and having to slam everything back in as the sun went down. Has all hinges and keepers , looks pretty good in my hands. Nothing too beautiful of course but workable. I'll be getting storage all tossed around again before the real winter kicks in - I hope. Don't be afraid to ask about it. Like I say its a good little project and could look new again by spring with your effort.
  15. I poked around but could not find a tail for the lighted visors I just got. Are they there just tucked up under the ceiling liner? Would be nicer if they were powered up.
  16. Yeah , if I'd had one that stayed that nice it's still be under my butt on a daily basis. My former '87 turbo wagon is about the closest I've gotten to something solid. If you read a current post you'll see it for sale and one guy pointing out rust on the windshield pillar but otherwise that car is truely solid. I'd still be running it if it weren't for serious pressure on parking here at the time. And I was even willing to tough it out with the turbo. Otherwise its bye bye 80's for me. I say do it! Re-use , Recycle !!
  17. Light sideswipe this side , plus rot : Fenders are cheap enough. Wheels I hit quick with a Rustoleum product.
  18. Yeah , I've already gotten west coast cars delivered. Sentimental , yes. But I'm not in a position to dump more money than a reasonable value. Most cars I'd agree with you about how far rot goes where you can't see but they really did this car right with Zeibart. All insides of doors , sills , etc. Were done. I can't speak too confidently until I lift all carpets and truly poke around. But I'd guess that much of what you see does stop not far from the edges you see. I'm not opposed to a hack job with cutting out rot and making pieces to overlap the hole plenty and hit it with undercoating and call it better than before. Not trying to restore, just patch n go. Danny w does have lots of sheetmetal but we would still be talking time = money. Gotta run. Might check back later.
  19. Cool , thanks for letting us all know. Nollie !!!!!! Israel !!!!!! Hello ? Hope you guys in Israel are ok. Good luck!
  20. You could be right. I've been out of the 80's for some time now. Has to be someone here who's had their hands on the late 80's gov's.
  21. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/album.php?albumid=11 Check out my '78 from the underside. Now before you cry rot box , you really can't see the large areas of healthy metal protected - somewhat - by the aging Zeibart protection. I focussed on the ugly spots needing real attention. I have a 3 minute + video I'll try to upload somewhere and let you guys see. That'll show you the whole deal and I think a cameo appearance by Subafreak.
  22. Trying to clean house. Rust is not as bad as pic might make it seem. Nothing rotted through , workable with POR15 etc. Lower lip has a bend in it you can see. That should bend back fine with some heat. Hey ,its your winter project so it has to keep you busy somehow. Has all hinges and stays. Its either at my storage in Milford or at ctsuba's in Salem CT. If you want shipping that's fine. I just got a few large boxes. Offers can be submitted via PM or email me at moosens at yahoo dot com
  23. There is an upgrade metal gear that subaru offered. There's currently two governor gears on eBay but the seller didn't get back to me as to whether or not they were the upgrade. I don't have a parts manual to check but if you find them oneBay and get someone to check the p/n you might find the best CHEAP fix. Good luck! Lots of us here involved in the romance of caring for an old Subaru or two , or three .....
