  1. Hey,the white on WAS mine! My current Brat doesn't like the camera.Maybe I'll go down now and try to sneak up on it. Nice Goldie!!
  2. Thanks for helping out guys. I got a call a while ago.Andrew says the car is excellent!!! They were just leaving the dealer and by now they're probably in SC somewhere. He mentioned possibly going up 81 instead of 95 just because of the board population/demography in the southern states. Chicken fried steak, grits, iced tea,and shoe fly pie......shooooooey boy! I hope he brings me a doggy bag!
  3. We gotta git you a rebuild kit....and a place to send it out to. Used to be a place in Hamden,CT "Mr.Carburetor".Was indeed very reputable. Maybe Jesse would do it.He's going to need one eventually too, same carb.,same year. So....the next batch of rebuild kits that shows up,let's all be sure to get one.I think I have at least two unopened and one that was plundered,as I recall. I personally will be running three of these or maybe four (carbs) as I own two dual carb setups. So let's keep our eyes open for these.
  4. If you're along the way please let Andrew know.He doesn't need your time necessarily, but just incase he needs someone with local info, maybe a driveway or front of the house parking for a short nap...hopefully NOT a repair.
  5. No GL DL typically mentioned in the 4WD vehicles, pre '80,as I know it.The rest of the line got DL designations early on,like in '74 or so.GL Coupe also came about around then. The list shows a different grill for each of '77,8,and 9.I know the '79 is two round lights, correct? My '78 is quad lights,as are '77's....again,we're talking 4WD only here. '78 is the flukiest year.A little of this,a little of that.I personally love dual round lights,so I'm really glad my '78 and I found each other. Cheers
  6. In the picture, the badge on the left is '79 (4WD) and the badge on the right is late '77 and all of '78,like my wagon.
  7. I tried to sell some of the rebuild kits I have but I think only one was taken. They're now in a box, somewhere. It's a DCJ306-8(last digit designates low altitude) THe float can be had too.I just got one off of eBay for piddly. There's not much to them.Choke, anti deisel switch, servos, not much else that you'd remove. The rest is jets, adj. screws, air bleed valves, hardware, etc. That's your baby.
  8. Another satisfied customer!! Scanner working!!! loving life.
  9. I think the brushguard is on wagon78's hatchback if I remember right.
  10. Darien car was light blue,2wd,nothing exceptional. Hey,Andrew is going to Atlanta to bring back a '73. He's got a post going looking for contacts along the way. Please check it out and see if you can contact him.You might get to see it before I do....and he'll tell you about the convert's I'm sure.
  11. Yup,that'd be Andrew-a.k.a. WagonsOnly. I think he still has it. One sold on eBay out of Darien CT within the last year or so.
  12. Sure seems that way.I never see a real big guy in those things. It's usually some wormy daddy's money preppie punk.Baseball hat,no socks, open collared shirt, too cool to even look at you Subaru without smirking. Except for you,Jack. The big guys that do drive them are pretty much the linemen from the football team.Need I say more?
  13. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=5846&sort=1&size=medium&cat=500&page=1 Try that for the matching part numbers and model reference.I couldn't get it to load up here properly.
  14. Skip,I hope this helps about the grill/emblem conversation we had. I have my FPM handy,as you can see,and my scanner working perfectly,so anything you need to know just ask. 1977 Stage II thru 1979 all models
  15. The funky but chic Stage I 4WD bumper from '75 - '77 Stage I
  16. There's at least one in CT that I know of. good to see you back,Jack.
  17. A member here in CT is looking for those exact pieces right now. They're just ornamentals,or how you would say it I'm not sure. You may have seen Lincoln emblems lit up but I don't remember seeing Subaru's lit up.Maybe on the experimental GL-100
  18. Thanks.Hopefully he'll try to squeeze in the New England Tour '05 before the Meet. It'll give him lot to talk about there.
  19. OK,enough of the having fun.I need some contact from Miles. You guys know where he is? If I don't hear from him soon I need to make other arrangements.I just lost my parking space and I'm going to move my car right now.I'm putting it on the street so it'll be an attraction to kids.Hopefully they just go smash Honda windows instead. "Miles to travel before I sleep"......???????????
  20. Have a blast.Sorry,I can't swing it this year. I'll be more involved next year and I know Skip is going to be back too. Thanks to Scott for all the effort. After all the efforts to gather these vehicles over the past year or so I'm really hoping the New England crowd all makes it.Wagon78 and I are old timers for owning these cars. We've done Carlisle, even before last year(just didn't enter our cars). But this past year saw a huge increase in vintage Subarus here in the Northeast.Hopefully we can all convoy on down, turning heads all the way to and fro. The big show this weekend for me is seeing Andrew come home with the '73 wagon.I'll be on call and might even drive with him to his house,if they don't stop down here somewhere and meet up. Dreaming ahead....my '73 Coupe, his '73 wagon,Skip's '78 Brat,Connie's '82 Coupe, maybe we get Scott K to bring his '78 wagon,Charlie has all sorts of choices but I'm hoping he trailers his ff-1 wagon.Maybe Mary and Jesse bring their vintage rides too?.... Have fun.
