  1. Moving from one side of town to the other.Stop on by if you can help out.Lots of parts going cheap or free. EA63,71,81,82 parts galore. And a hotel and truck stop across the street. How can you go wrong? 230 Woodmont Rd. Milford,CT unit 41-C,you won't miss it. Anybody know of any free or cheap steel racking or heavy duty shelving near SW CT?
  2. I'm not bullying,I'm asking. And I never said you slandered myself, etc. It was a display,as other folks mentioned it to me before I ever gave an opinion. To me,there was just a little too much sauce on it,and others thought so too.I PM'd you or emailed, whatever it was doesn't matter, asking you to not bring politics into a car show. But when you show up looking like that how am I supposed to take that after imploring you to drop it for the show. We'd had disagreements in the off topic forum and in an effort to show respect for the group I wished that we all just drop the political stances for a weekend.Well, you sure didn't. As for fish stickers and what religion you or anyone else is,you're right,we don't have to look at those or get offended by them. They were far less visible than your effort. If you're going to say it was two bumper stickers and try to make me look bad, that's fine. How many folks have registered in our group? One less, that's for sure. Again,I ask that we leave the bickering to the seldom off topic threads that have passed and attempt to get a group of folks together while not alienating at least half of the group.
  3. Oh boy,is this where we boast about how many rides we *could* bring? Most likely the '78 will be there. Many other possibilities.... Bring Bucky!!!!!!!! Make a window display about his name, etc. and people will get a kick out of it.Have some fun with it."Boxy is Better!", "Looks like a refridgerator because it doesn't want the Honda apetizers to spoil", "Lifter tick to you,Heartbeat of life to me"...like that. Better yet, load it up with some anti-Bush stickers. No Child's Behind Left, and the thousands of others.Just kidding-see below. I'll probably register soon. It's a family event, lets not forget that, please.I'll probably be solo or with my son,we'll see. But,regardless, please refrain from inappropriate language/terminology around the kids, mine or anyone's. I'll ask again, only this year to everyone, not just Scott, who apparently has no repect for my opinion on this matter. Can we please not show off political banners, etc in a manner that causes the whole group to appear to be part of that particular banner,media,etc..?? Last years Bush display was a no class move,Scott.Especially after I PM'd or emailed you personally to keep our political beliefs out of the Carlisle show. If that's what you choose to do then do it,I can't stop you.But you'll not see me in a group that involves you again if that's the case. Agree to no banners,or verbal attacks on anyone in relation to today's politics and I'll be happy to attend along side of you....
  4. Eric, please let me know when is a good time to tall about this little project.I can toss my lifted EA82 thoughts out the window now. I'm going out in a few minutes.Call me if you have time, please.
  5. HAHAHAHA!!!! I have the same cheeseball 70's replacement radio in my '78 4WD wagon... Is your volume knob broken too?Hard to tell in that picture.I'll send to a stock radio if you need one.I also should have an extras console that hasn't been cut. Good luck with it.
  6. Russ,I have all versions of pretty much all FSM's from the 70's,just so you know. Your brown fender is leaning against a wall. Cheers
  7. So is it GOOD good?... I've got the FSM sitting here with CA and US49States versions,my personal '78 outside.....but Muddy probably hooked ya. John......wheels! nudge nudge......
  8. Looking like April 23rd is the best day.Pickup anytime between now and April 30th will be very welcome.Be sure to call first though to see if it's worth bringing the truck up.I may get one loaned to me from work,or rent one.Infact, maybe even tomorrow I can rent a van or truck and get a lot done. My goal is to make enough room where it doesn't matter what the weather does, there'll be room for a good get together anyways.I really want to try to get a good bunch of folks together who've helped me out, especially this past winter, and get some pizza, beer, etc. for you guys. I'll keep the '73 there untill the end, since there's a weekend at the end of the month it'll be easy enough to take care of then. You guys can pet the coupe and if we're lucky take it around the industrial park for a run.
  9. I was just thinking about you today.Call me sometime. What are you going to do on Chris L's old wagon? You know the number.... Every time I call you I get a machine,if I'm lucky.Does the "Play Messages" button still work or did it fall off or something? just bustin 'em....call me soon and by all means stop on up.Even better if you beat the vultures to the carcass! Ciao
  10. Sounds good to me. Classics being from 360's and "Star series" ff-1's through 1979 for cars and up to '81 for Brats. Sound right? Soon the '80-84 crew will have to join the dinosaur club.Something to consider. The EA81 technology is very much EA71 tech based. Once you hit the OVC engines then you draw the line.My opinion. So,what I'm saying the future holds is Classics to include EA81 vehicles. "Loyale" series from '85-94 would then be lumped with the early EJ '90-94 Legacys. That's pretty much a decade span. '95-present is the "Brave New World". Any thoughts on what I've mentioned?Im open to ideas and besides......I don't make decisions here. Cheers
  11. Bajahahahas welcome too.Even big sluggy Ford trucks. Well, all I can say is the place will be empty soon.Once the keeper stuff is gone, that'll mean the give-away stuff will be soon gone too.I'm thinking I can keep some stuff there up to the end that I'm not too interested in keeping but would help someone else out.
  12. thanks but I just want to use this place for storage and get into our next home.I had my playhouse for quite a while.Going into a unit with no elec. stinks but I really don't need it for much more than storage right now. I remember renting in one of these places about 12 years ago or more and there was this young scruffy dude with all sorts of wires, contraptions, etc. all running off his car battery.I don't want to end up like that dude.
  13. Jude, there's another EA81 with belts on it.I didn't get to cut the belts and check for play.I'll see what I can do tomorrow night.
  14. ....son,you ain't seen this little guy eat yet, have you?Just kidding, see you soon. Hey everybody,I got us one of those rental storage deals with 24 hour access,so we can still hang out late. .But we'll need candles or flashlights. I'll be hustling stuff over one carload at a time for the weeknights. It's right across town.Anyone available during the weeknight, stop on down and we'll make a couple of hauls and whatever crazy goings on there may be instore.
  15. My '78 wagon is pretty good.Clears from the center out.I'll gladly wait untill next fall to go check and give a report. First real day of Spring was today,up here. Any solution for this defroster problem?Another VW crossover?
  16. I got a pushbar from Jack.Never got to meet him but his mom was cool. That was probably in the "Summer Tour 2000".He did stop back here not too long ago. Now,show me some old thread from the first board. I think I was online with the USMB around 1997 or 98,despite what the signature says.Yikes!Soon it'll be ten years.....scary.
  17. Noah,I might have that XT MPFI MAF incase Pat doesn't. Northwet, i believe there is a Maf of yours that wants to be mine Have fun and call me sometime when you get home.If Pat does have one then grab it.
  18. OH.......almost forgot to thank Connie and Tom for all the help!!!! Many items are either now boxed or nearly finished being boxed, thanks to them. They also changed my turbo wagon door skins for me.Thanks again guys!
  19. You're both right. Jesse,I thought about you for a second and then neglected to call.I heard you're just about done with the SVX.Hey,I'm getting nervous about my blue dash. Can you hit it with some Armorall for me,please?I really want to break away and get up to that Brat.If you're crazy enough, stop down Easter night.Might be good to get out with the kids all high on jelly beans and peeps. Call me.Last couple of times I called you I got some recordings. Buona Pasqua!
  20. .....of course you want it legal. At first it seemed like it was truely abandoned and just waiting for action,or death.Seems like there's a glimmer of hope for it if the doors were locked, etc. New Advice: You should have already bought one of my cars. So stop down and check out the '84,87,or 89 wagons. Good luck.
  21. I see that you're correct.I wonder why my friend who has nearly 30 years with Subaru told me mine was a thrust washer. This guy is a Senior Master Tech.Is there a thrust washer at all in an EA82T?I don't have my manuals handy. From the looks at the early 70's manual I do have,it's obvious that the center bearing carries the thrust on the early engines. Thanks for the info.Sorry Jude.Talk to you soon.
  22. Rumor has it that Dave and Melissa are heading north.Call me if you're coming up.I'm working untill at least 11,probably 12. I'm going up to Milford for the afternoon.Connie is supposed to stop by too. For those of you not sure what's going on,here's the nutshell in a deal. I'm moving soon.I am consolidating all my Subaru parts and paring down the stock. My place is a rented industrial bay in Milford,CT.I'm giving lots of stuff away and looking for some help with boxing,or if you'd help with some mechanical work there's plenty to do too.If you want to just stop by and mooch some parts that's ok,just don't assume it's all available. THere's a lot of parts for most Subarus from 1975-1989 and then some. I DO NOT have Legacy and Impreza parts or anything after 1994 Loyale that I'm letting go of. Location: 230 Woodmont Rd. Milford,CT unit # 41-C I-95 from NYC take exit 40-left at end of exit, right at light, industrial park on your left before the first light.Seconds from the highway. I-95 from New Haven take exit 40-left at the bottom of the exit,go under highway, straight through light,it's on your left in about 75 yards. Saturday you can count on me being there from 2PM on,for sure.Hopefully I'll be there even earlier, like 12:30 Thanks for any consideration.April is the END!!!! It's going to be a huge push to get this stuff organized and moved into some little tin storage unit. Then once our house is settled I'll move it again. So,stop on up before something you need goes in the dumpster, because I'm not into moving things I don't need for my own cars. I'm extremely cash poor this week but I'll do my best to score some pizza, etc. if it becomes a decent social event.Besides, you'll see something you want for a few bucks and then the pizza, sushi, etc. will flow like wine.
  23. what! my one liners hit the cutting room floor??? This never happens to Scwarzenager!! Thanks, looks great that way. Happy warm feet everybody!
