  1. Uh,I hear ya,but I'm thinking way beyond the Brat. But I'm not thinking of making military vehicles.Let Subazoo fill in any of those details. ......you ain't kiddin!!!!!
  2. THe main charachters:Subazoo-owner of a Baird(?)machine to make various structural and sheetmetal parts and conected with numerous folks overseas. Me-moosens-had contributed a few ideas including using old buildings here in CT where lots of industry has gone elsewhere. No mentions of shipyards but hey you were close. I was just thinking of this again the other day.I want to build dual range,Subaru powered cars and MPV's.I still think this could happen....all it takes is money...so it won't happen in my house anytime soon. Scott,if you see this I'm sorry to have not gotten back to you about the land/house deal.I'll talk to you soon,I promise.
  3. Tapper, yes there's a couple of them. I just had to crush a '76 GF.Too bad,it just needed some welding and a place to stay.My advice if you're looking is to spend the money on transport and get one from the non rust zones. Feel free to email me if you want to talk vintage.Cheers
  4. Not much up here anymore.CT boasts a whopping 2!!, 78 wagons licensed. One is mine and the other is Wagon78's WagonsOnly has my former '75 that he NEEDS to get on the road. No real guess on the nimbers.Infact I was thinking of the same type of post. It'll be interesting to find out.At least to us it will be.
  5. waaaagh:boohoo: well,if you really need to........you know if you drive down you can leave it on the grass parking lot and go in the woods with someone.I'll have my son in the back seat so no boozing it up.
  6. It'd be nice to see at Pine Barrens in October. Nice ride!!!
  7. STi !!!!!!!!! And keep it on the grass. You can ride with me or whoever.
  8. I thought I'd just try to get us all together. At least one guy stated that he was confused by the different posts. Feel free to delete this one if you want as Dennis has sparked up a fresh one. October 25th,.........and I'm working on excuses for Skip to be able to make it.
  9. Roooooooost!!!!!!!!!....hahaha,now THAT'S a Suba-roooooost! Even the dirt bike guys were jealous.Dude!!!!!!
  10. You're the KING!!!!!! Can you post a pic of the "fogger" in action?? I'd trade you the touring wagon for your car as is.
  11. Sticky please??? Let's trash the other post. What do you guys think?Since it's not going to be in September.Let's get everyone on the same page here.Or edit the title and scrap this one. October, trying to plan a date. You guys prefer a Saturday, right?? THe 18th is NOT good for me.The other days are but depending on which one I may have to leave by 2PM the latest or get my eggs scrambled. THe Sundays look better but that's up to you guys. 4th? 11th? 25th? or into November with it? Last year's Nov. run wasn't so bad.Just have to dress a little warmer. **********UPDATE 10/18*************** Guys just a reminder that this is a family event.Let's try to keep the language in check,at least while the little guys are around......also,I'll be taking up a collection for the guy on the west coast's family.I hope everyone can at least toss in a little something. All funds go to Mudrat for donation. Getting close!I'll gladly hook up with fellow travelers if I leave on Saturday.Outside chance I may go down Friday night and hang with Skip and the gang.
  12. Nice job! Also interested in what paint you used. Any prep like acetone wipedown or anything?
  13. No,don't take that for anything....just messing with the king. John, doesn't matter to me.I had my limit and that was right where it was.If you bid more you'd have gotten it and I wouldn't have cried about it. My only bitch is that I just have to pay a few bucks more when the other bidder drove it up.That's life in the eBay game.I'm done snivelling....
  14. Yeah thanks Brad......too bad you didn't just not bid then I would have gotten it at a nice price....but you got excited,I understand. I recognized your eBay name right away.Too bad you didn't recognize mine or check the list.Unless you just drove up the price for a friend....hmmmmmm. I think there might be one on the road here in the US.There was a guy who claimed to have the complete set up last year or so.But,the guy was a wongleflute and pulled it out from under me when my father inlaw died and I needed a day to get to things. He wanted $150 for the whole deal. I'll be putting together a 1600 with the dual carbs on a bench getting it ready to drop into my '78.
  15. Ahhh Upstate NY.....homophobic rednecks in pickup trucks with insecurity issues. I'd give anything to change my skin color and blow by that guy with a white woman at my side. This is the typical backwoods(no offense to the Troy area)mentality we find in "the valley" here in CT.Every state has its spots but some states are completely covered. I'll bet that guy had a chain saw in that truck too.
  16. HEY!!!!!! I'm in CT and would get that brushguard!!!! Email me please. moosens@yahoo
  17. Brad,if you ever need a part number, etc. call Dan Perkins Subaru in Milford and talk to John in Parts. He is THE man.If he doesn't know it by memory he'll look it up for you in seconds.
  18. I've been told that all weekends in October are shot but there may be a Saturday in there that I can make it. What are you guys thinking?Besides Dennis buying breakfast.
  19. Sorry if I'm wrong.I could swear we had this discussion at least once before. Yes I've seen the passing light switch and know it is seperate.I haven't gotten to use one yet though. No more Brat.
  20. Congrats Brad, maybe we can get a picture of ours. Not sure if you know but I have a turbo wagon from the southwest....not a spot of rust on the body, suspension,or anything.Just one spot where some ding dong must have tried to close the hood and left a tool there. The ear of the hood up by the driver's corner got bent and chipped the paint off about a 1 inch square,if that.Minor surface rust, will look perfect by springtime. Brings a smile to my face every time I walk towards it. Rusty Jones targets available.
  21. Yes,wired to come on with the high beams. Yo!
  22. Heads resurfaced,valve grind-3 angle,check lifters,what Miles said(cam seals w/O rings,front and rear main seals,idler/tensioner pulleys,Oil pump,Water pump,valve cover gaskets w/bolt boots)
