  1. 29" Super Swamper TSL. Haven't tried them in the Mud yet. Do will on dirt trails.
  2. here's the opposite. a EJ 2.5 forester with ea-82 dual-range
  3. Robert Farago didn't write the STI review. It was written by Chris Paukert. I agree the B9 has an ugly front end. I never thought the front looked like a vagina and didn't notice the falopion tube interior untill Farago pointed it out. I can easily see a airplane in the grill design. Which I don't find attractive in this particular design. But the rest of the B9 I do like. It has a Alfa Romeo look which I love.
  4. Nope, never had any issues. i don't usually run everything at once though. Just to be safe.
  5. I removed my front sway bar on my forester because it broke. with the lift it does have quite a bit of body roll. I just drive slower now around corners. It is a compromise I'm willing to make for better off-road performance.
  6. My CB is just right of the steering wheel next to the vents. all CB functions and display are located on the mic itself. On the upper right hand corner of this picture you can see a silver box where my CB and antenna connect to.
  7. Got the diff Oil changed. No probem getting fill and drain plugs out with a 1/2 drive. But I noticed I had quite a bit of grey sludge on the magnet. Is this normal or should I be concerned?
  8. My rear diff has 2 plugs. the top I assume is for checking and topping off. and the bottom one is to drain. But how do I remove the plugs? Is there a special tool to remove the plugs? It is like an allen nut but is square with only 4 sides.
  9. this is my 1st and only Lifted Subaru I've owned. Off-road mods; 2" Suspension lift 2" Body lift EA-82 5-speed Dual-range Phantom Grip front LSD Subaru rear LSD 29" Super Swampers Suba-Xtreme Sump Gaurd Subaru Rear Diff Gaurd CB Radio More to come I hope Here's a couple pictures. click on my Forester link in my signature to see more.
  10. I run a Cobra 75 WX ST with a 'lil wilson' magnet antenna.
  11. No. I first noticed it when I had the vehicle up on jack stands to install the lift. I couldn't get the front lug nuts loose because I couldn't hold the front wheel still and it was in gear. I had to lower the front end on the floor just to get the lug nuts loose. After I Put the lift on. I tested it in the driveway by releasing the parking brake in gear and it would roll then catch then roll and catch again. I'm hoping this is a normal thing with the phantom grip and not my tranny gears being eaten up. I Haven't noticed any slippage while driving around in FWD though.
  12. we did have issues at first and it didn't work because we weren't useing the side spider gears. But with a little modifing with shims and replacement of the spider gears it now works. Mudrat knows how to do it know. So you'll have to ask him about the details. I haven't been very impressed with the performance of the Phantom grip though. I was spinning one front wheel the other day on a trail. I also changed tranny oil after a couple thousand miles and my drain plug magnet was covered in fine metal shavings. I also noticed recently that I have to use the parking brake to park the car or it will roll. The tranny will not hold it in gear. If I were to do it again I would try a Cusco LSD or just run open diff.
  13. suspension was parts and labor body was just parts. I installed it myself
  14. Nice Outback. How much lift does it have? Is it body or suspension? What brand and size tires is it running?
  15. the whole engine, drivetrain and suspension get lowered from the unibody with blocks.
  16. Yes Aussie Dual-ranges are full-time AWD in hi and lo. They bolt up to any EJ engine. They also only come in N/A models which makes me beleive they are not strong enough for boosted engines. A cheaper solution to getting full-time 4wd with dual-range is the USDM RX dual-range. But an adapter plate must be used for fitment and it may not be able to handle boosted engines.
  17. suspension lift is modified struts done by Mudrat. The lower rear of the front fender wells had to be hammered in to allow clearence of tires when wheels where turned sharp and suspension compressed. They now only rub on the control arm lift block when wheel is turned all the way.
  18. I ordered the lift and skid plate from Renick motorsports
  19. yes this forester has the EA82 5-speed dual-range. Front and rear limited-slip diffs. click on my Forester link in my signature to see more pictures and info. Also I selling my old Cooper Discoverers if anybody is interested.http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=328787#post328787
  20. the 2" I just added is the Scorpion body Kit and I installed it myself. Easy lift to install with good parts and instructions. the hardest part was getting the shift linkage adjusted right since I'm running an ea82 tranny and linkage. They didn't say anything about the shift linkage needing to be adjusted in the instructions.
  21. I have 4 Cooper Discoverer STT 215/75r15's with 1/4" tread depth left on them. I'll sell you all for $100 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=328787#post328787
