EA82 timing belt slop video's
Its amazing how loose these belts can be the engine still running. When I got the wagon, the tensioner for the p/s was missing a bolt. I didn't learn of this, until the belt became really loose, and started thwacking itself against the belt covers. The car still ran like a top.

Excessive oil in PCV
Okay, here's my ordeal. My XT Turbo with its higher compression block seems to have excessive oil coming out of the PCV system. When I first got it, it would shoot oil into the intake after long decelerations from a highway. I changed the PCV valve to an OEM valve. This didn't help really. I then deleted the PCV system per Phil's recommendations. Plugged the PCV valve up, and connected the two valve cover breathers to an air breather. Then plugged the holes left over in the air intake tubing. Now, I get a different problem. It shoots oil out of the air breather after coming off the highway. Does anyone have suggestions as to fix this problem? A thought I had was that the shortblock used doesn't have the crankcase breather that the turbo block does. But, Noss's wagon has the same setup I do (SPFI block w/ turbo heads), and his doesn't do it. I'm kinda at a loss. Haven't been driving the XT because I'm tired of oil getting everywhere.

Up Pipe Fixed
Check your ignition coil. The XT does the same thing. I suspect the ignition coil.

Cheap, simple, and cool: paddle-shift Subie
Was talking with a buddy, and it turns out one of the mechanical engineers a few years back used a hydraulic setup with paddles to shift in his honda for a senior project. Perhaps I'll go through the archives at the library.

Weight loss plan
Definitely should do a before and after weights of your diet. I'm fairly curious what weight can be lost. Obvious thing is of course gutting interior.

A manual gearbox is kinda one of those things that needs to be done by feel... If it can be done though, still sweet.

CF Hood Interest
I doubt this will ever go through. The Korean fell through on buying a turbo wagon.

Will Legacy TPS work on Loyale?
According to Grossgary, the specs in the FSMs are never right on the TPS. What symptoms makes you think you need to replace it?

Ever have a spark plug that wouldn't fit? (EA81)
Its very easy to cross thread the spark plugs. Make sure you're putting them in at the proper angle, they don't go in straight (one side kinda points forward, the other kinda backward).

Winterizing? Defrost / heated wipers /heated washer fluid
Make sure the coolant is good! If you live in really cold weather, consider running as high as 70/30 antifreeze/water concentration. The last thing you need is your block freezing. Apart from that, make sure the heater core isn't plugged shut, and you'll be fine. Snow tires are nice, but not necessary. I have a set of snows though. Other than that, turn the defroster on, and you should be fine. Use a block heater for those rapid warm ups.

88 gl10 t wagon
There's a couple spots you can tee in a vacuum line. Probably most obvious is on the p/s, there's either one or two pressure switches with vacuum lines. Where I'm going to do mine, is near the back of the engine bay (mine's a bit different because its an XT), there's two vacuum switches that operate the 4WD lock. Don't know if Automagics have that. I plan to Tee in between the manifold and the switches. Basically, any non-ported manifold vacuum source works well.

No we don't. No one is willing to committ to a date, and we don't even really have a for sure place to meet (though DrKrazy did offer?)

EA82 5sp into GL-10
No need to remove the dash to change the speedo cable. I've done it to a three door. Just remove the lower kick panel, follow where the speedo cable enters the firewall up to the back of the dash, and pull. You'll need the axles from the manual.

If the body is in great shape, go for it. Try to get it for a little less of course though.

Seems like most of us are interested in something. Let's set a date: How about something on the weekend of the sept 16,17? Both Saturday and Sunday are fine for me. What y'all thinking?

Explain... I agree he was lazy. The fact he just bundled them up, doesn't make him very smart. It doesn't make him dumb though. Just lazy.

Did you check your radiator? The missing cap on the reserve ain't gonna matter at all.

EGR Solenoid is super easy to replace. Unplug it, unplug the vacuum lines, and unbolt the solenoid.

Another attempt at "Synchromesh" Q
Kidding aside, I really don't know what you're trying to explain... Are you trying to say that with less throttle, the clutch slips?

Just don't ruin it by putting on a bra:- ea82 cooling help
Check the radiator for clogs and fin rot. If the radiator is suspect at all, replace it.- Mobil1 and oil leaks
If its a manual, just put the car into 5th, set the parking break, and turn it. There's gonna be some initial slack, but it should stop and allow you break it loose.- i jus got 89 gl xt
What kind of info you looking for? You asked a fairly vague question. You wanted pictures of XTs? Here's my 86 XT Turbo GL-10: And here's my former 88 XT6: - i jus got 89 gl xt
