  2. go spend 17 bucks and buy a haynes book.. I know a lot of peopel dont like em, but between that book, the usrm and the forums thats all you should need
  3. I think it the relay right above the fuse box.. Unscrew the fuse box and its right there.. to be sure, do a search for rear*defogger*relay
  4. alright I got some good sheet metal screws and when I took the spoiler off the donor, I pulled on it first to see if it was loose.. Iwas held on pretty damn good.. If I can find a cordless drill to use today, I'ma get it on and I'll post a picture of it
  5. GD you need to change your name to Dr. General Disorder lol
  6. This is the one I'm gonna go with.. http://groups.msn.com/USMB/hatchpatroltreerun2003.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=1083 I spray canned the spoiler metallic blue.. it looks sweet... think I'ma do all the black and chrome trim with that metallic blue.. I will post a pic of it tommorow night when the magic happens.. So in that pic, that looks like it sticks up about 3/4 of an inch from the top of the hatch dont it?
  7. damn... got any advice for putting one in? I think I'm gonna install one cuz I want to know what my real oil pressure is
  8. all you have to do is run a few wires dont ya? Shouldnt be to hard.. Theres 3 holes through the firewall that you can run the wires through.. Should take about 20 min to do
  9. Matt - Well the easiest way to do that would be get some honda accord springs and swap em out with the subaru ones. Also you can turn the preload up on the rear shocks and get up to 1.8 inches I believe, and hten the front struts have preload adjusters that would give you more height in the front..
  10. any kind of oil pressure gauge.. External one you'd mount somewhere inside... Napa's got them for like 21 bucks or something
  11. torxxx replied to northguy's topic in Off Road
Yeah I think I may be down with that.. what is the lift size and whats the cost gonna be so I can start planning for it now
  12. Anyone mount the subaru spoiler that came on the 80's series wagons? I picked one up today but I didnt measure where it was screwed into in relation to the top of the back hatch. so I'm looking for either how much the spoiler is supposed to stick up from the top of the cab, or measurements for drilling the holes..... Thanks..
  13. ok my bad on the terms.... I did my wiring bit 5 or 6 years ago so you'll have to excuse me.. I had the concept right, just the terms wrong.. lol
  14. gonehuntn - Theres a few board members here that have dual exhaust, and single exhaust w/o Cat.. Do a search for it If you gutted the Cat out, and left it in there, it should drop the temp of the exhaust around that boot.. seems like it should anyways And for the fuel filter, we use Racor filters on our commercial fishing boats and they are awesome.. You just unscrew a t-handle on the top of filter setup and then the filter has a lil handle on it to pull it out. (filter change without getting gas on your hands). They also have a petcock at the bottom of the filter to drain out water/dirt etc... They make this filters for car/truck applicatons and they are fairly small.. could easily mount one under the hood http://www.marisolmarine.com/parts/racor.html
  15. Alaska prices it prolly woulda been 20 bucks
  16. I just got back from the junk yard.. Got a hella good deal today. Got the heater resistor pack, new steering wheel horn cover, kickpanels, CooL Blue headlight bulb, Rear spoiler, interior light cover, and the entire rear carpet setup for 20 bucks!
  17. Prolly another one of my noob questions but what is WCss6?
  18. Snowman - You should save your money... I'm planning a trip down to Oregon to see Mudrat and have him do a big lift on my sooby.. Prolly gonna go sometime this summer.. We could both drive down there, get our lifts, then rally the hell out of Canaidia on the way back up to Alaska!
  19. Are all the tires on the car the exact same size tire? Sounds like you are running into the linkage problem I had when I had to put 2 bigger spares on the back of my GL
  20. Ok, my buddy has a 92 Loyale and hes got green lights.. they are easier to look at and are a hella lot cooler. Thats whats inspired me to do that.. I tired painting the bulbs blue with fingernail polish and all that did was burn off and get me high off the fumes as I drove.... can I get a hell yea? lol
  21. you'd have to series paralell the wires to make it so it wasnt making 24 volts and it will only work if both batteries are kept charged.. (you'd have to split the wire off the alternator that goes to the battery and make it so you could hook it to both.
  22. I'ma go check the JY since I dont have much money these days.. Hopefully the guy will give me a carb and let me work it off pulling the parts that he needs... Thanks for the help guys.. Snowman, lemme see how big my next paycheck is and I'll let you know
  23. Well in my messing with the dash, I did somethng that messed the heater up.. The air flow is stuck on Vent, but the off button still works.. Did I unplug a vacumn somehow putting my dash back together? Anyone have this happen or have a solution to what diaphrams I have to wire open or closed to get my defrost to work again.. Its -20F again so my car is pretty much undriveable without Defrost working
