  1. What kind and size of tire is on the OBW? The bumper looks excellent, BTW.
  2. That lift looks familliar Glad you like it. Now have fun with the looks SUV drivers will give your ride.
  3. The exhaust manifold is the same for both phaseI and phaseII 2.5 motors.
  4. If you are going to use the stock ECU, my guess it that you probably need to stay with a set of DOHC heads. I recently rebuilt my '97's motor. It uses a '99 phase2 block with '96 heads and it runs very well and also ups the compression a bit. This build also allows you to use your existing intake, header, and whatever else you may already have. Some other options would be to use your existing 97 heads with a phase2 block, or just find a used 2.2 and put it in.
  5. Is the car a manual or an automatic?
  6. The master tech at my local Subaru dealer was able get it in spec "easily" when I took it in for the alignment.
  7. Nice pictures! I really can't wait to get your old bumper mounted up. Just waiting for MR to ship the adaptor brackets.
  8. I did not need any after market camber bolts for the lift on my '97.
  9. Me too. If not, I'll just get someone local to make them. Thanks again.
  10. It was a used mudrat bumper and it is finally in the garage Now I just need to find a good welder to modify the brakets as I haven't been able to contact mudrat yet. It is a beast for sure, and it should work very well for summer camping trips. It will also let me mount up my PIAA 720's and a set of smaller driving lights. I'll get some pics up when I can
  11. Looks like a mudrat to me.
  12. 1997 Legacy Outback 190,000 miles 2" lift Scorpion Springs KYB GR2 struts Suby Skids front skid plate It is getting a new heart in the next few days.
  13. 500's will work, as will the PIAA 520's. I would highly suggest that you do not splice into teh stock wiring. The lights will not be as brigh as they should be As for installing them in the stock location, you need to remove all of the OEM bracket. Since this seems to be a question that comes up on many of the forums I read, I will try to get some pictures and a how to up this weekend. It is really hard to explain it without pictures.
  14. Your wagon runs on 16's, so I'm not suprised to hear they are a little more expensive. Looks like you will be about $130 or so online. The Discount I went to honored the online price I found on Tire Rack. That was lucky. Just be prepared to meet half way.
  15. I have had mine on for 5 months now. I haven't experienced an all season like this one. Quiet, good traction in all road conditions, and the wear after 10k miles is practically non-existant. I think I paid a little under $100/tire at Discount Tire.
  16. I think I will go with Delta Cams setup. I just called them today. It rolls out to about $330, which is a little more feasible than $700-800 :-\
  17. I am preparing to do the headgaskets and thought about looking into a set of performance cams to get a little extra power out of the motor. !997 Outback wagon w/ 2.5 DOHC motor. Currrent mods include an intake and Borla header. Manual tranny. Your opinions are welcome and if you happen to know some sites I should look at for pricing, that will also be welcome.
  18. Thank you, Josh. I managed to find an 03 WRX wheel for a decent price. It has the same cruise control switch, etc... I will post updates and pics after the initial install. I have to say that I am a bit nervous about the air bags.
  19. I tried to search this subject, but couldn't find anything. I have heard that the 02-03 WRX steering wheel will connect directly to the '97 Legacy w/o any modifications and I would really like to do this since it really won't be that expensive. I have the opportunity to buy an 04 WRX steering wheel for a respectable price. Will either of these really work? Wasn't sure where to post this question, so feel free to move if I am not in the right place.
  20. While the King Springs have a higher spring rate, I don't really notice any harshness in the ride. They just help to eleminate the "lazy boy" feel of the car
