It doesn't sputter at all while driving under load, so I don't think it would be vapor lock. That and, as you said, it just isn't that hot yet

The car has the original fuel pump. I have that parts car sitting out at CCR, so I could rob the fuel pump out of that. It's just that... well, I just hate messing with the fuel filter, pump crap... as you witnessed first hand

I did a search on this issue, and I read the posts, but I need to explain what has been going on. Any ideas you all can provide would be welcome. The problem first started after I took the wagon to the power wash. I always spray the car down and this time, I also sprayed the engine bay. After I was done, the car wouldn't start. The first thought I had was, "crap! I just got water on the distributor." I pushed the car to an adjacent parking lot, dried off the car and the dried the engine bay. After a few more minutes, I tried to start it up again. It sounded like it was trying to start, so after some vigorous pumping on the gas pedal while turning the key, it sputtered. I continued to pump the pedal and eventually, the motor came back to life. After a couple of minutes it died again, but it was easier to start so again, I figured that it must have been that a little water got into the electronics. Eventually it began to idle on its own, but after getting fully warm, it would not idle. Ever since this experience, the car starts right up. The choke works flawlessly, it idles down normally and runs well; until it warms fully. After that the car sputters at the stop lights and dies. It will not idle and I have to manipulate the Ebrake and the gas pedal to keep it going. I thought it might be that the alternator or voltage regulator (maybe the water did something?) was going bad since the headlights and such seemed to flicker. My thought was it might also be affecting the spark, so it was swapped out with another. The car started right up and was idling well. Once it got warm, it started to exhibit the same simptoms. At this point, I am frustrated. The car has new NGK plugs, new wires, new front and aft fuel filters, new air cleaner, etc. It does not appear to be vac leaks. The only thing left is the fuel pump but...

Thanks all. I think I will try straightening it a bit.

I did some searching, but couldn't find anything. I just installed a BYB lift in my '84 wagon over the weekend and now the shifter can't move into reverse. What is the work around for this issue? Did you all just re-bend the shift lever and add an extension?

Phil, the 15th is a Thursday. You now have one extra day to tell your boss you won't be in. Laura, the kids can come play too! As for the rest of you? Catch a cold or something??? Seriously, no worries if you can't make it. It is just a fun way to spend a day out of the office once a year. ~edit~ list updated. -
So yes, the second annual March Madness Festivus at BW3 is almost here. They will be opening the doors at 10am for our little group of merry men and wimenz. The bar is located just West of Wadsworth on 80th and Carr in Arvada. If you have been to Pirate's trivia night, you already know where it is. Here is the plan for this year. The date is March 15th and the "rules" are quite simple. Rule number one: The bar is opening early for us, the members of AWD Pirates and the USMB. Please return the favor and bring a few extra bucks to pay our servers. The main idea here is to just come hang out with a good group of folks, have a beer before noon, feast on wings, and watch some great basketball games. Sounds peachy, yes? This is the event for you! There is a "pool", but you do NOT have to participate. The cost to enter the pool will be $5 and you have to be there to make your picks. Your picks will be completed and turned over to the key master before the first game begins, so make sure you have your flipping coin handy... We like to keep things simple and fun: Winner(s) take all, unless the number of participant's warrants a point system of some kind. Yetis do not take take "maybes" all that well. Get the time off, and allow nothing to come between you, good people, and a beer List of participants so far (Including a few Pirates): Yeti Sweethouse PAR Samli preston cRyan OMGitstehKOREAN!!1!
