  1. What did your H6 dyno to the wheel? ~edit~ I read that wrong the first time through. 250 to the wheel on an NA H6 just seems kind of high.
  2. The '96 DOHC valve covers/heads have the raised letter casting you are speaking of. My old '97 DOHC valve covers/heads did not have the raised letter casting.
  3. The beast is looking great!
  4. I have an oil pressure gauge that doesn't seem to be working. I did perform a search, but I couldn't find anything related to what I have tried and what I haven't. I have checked to see if the gauge is working by grounding it. It moves up slowly, so I think the gauge is fine. I have replaced the old sending unit and the gauge still doesn't budge. I am at a loss for ideas now. Has anyone had a similar problem?
  5. Now to fix the darn oil pressure gauge... Thanks Shawn!
  6. Is it a rythmic noise related to the speed, or is it present while going over a bump in the road? If it isn't speed related, check the endlinks on your swaybars.
  7. Far as I know, the chassis are the same for both vehicles. You can take your entire assembly (strut, sping, tophat) and swap it into your Outback. Tire size should be the same for both, so I don't see any issues with rubbing, etc... You will just be riding a bit lower. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong:) .
  8. The part numbers are different. If you do the swap, you will want to swap in both the 95 strut and the springs. This will reduce your ground clearance a bit because the Outback strut/spring set up is a bit taller.
  9. That should be a SOHC 2.5. They are typically more "reliable" than the older phase I and II DOHC 2.5s.
  10. Thanks. That is what I needed to know.
  11. It is a 1988 GL wagon. The previous owner stated that it runs warm with the air on. Everything is fine with this vehicle... at least everything that I have seen. It clearly has been well maintained through out its 197k lifetime. Do the older gens tend to run warm, or could it be that the old radiator needs to be replaced? Just curious
  12. Glad you like the setup, Steve. It looks, well.... sorta like mine. I wish I had a dark blue instead of green! Martinjmpr, I have averaged about 23-26 since I bought the car. There has been no noticeable change with the lift.
  13. Will this include an Legacy Outback lift kit too? If so, I am interested.
  14. That turned out really nice! I like.
  15. Does your outback have the OEM speakers in the front, or are they aftermarket?
  16. Check your coolant. If it looks like THIS , you have a blown HG. BTW, that is my coolant looked like after we drained it for the engine swap.
  17. "yay" for the unequal length header! I love that sound.
  18. '97 LOBW. King lift springs and KYB gr2's. Regular all season tires for now. I have 9.5" from the rear dif and about 8.5" from the custom front skid which was built to clear the Borla header.
  19. Aren't the piston heads about 1mm shallower on the phase II's? That would bump the CR slightly when using the DOHC heads, wouldn't it?
