  1. If you are considering a referb, talk to the folks at CCR. I know they will rebuild Subaru transmissions in addition to the engines and the service they will offer to you if something goes wrong with their product is fabulous. I also know it won't cost you 4k... Before any of that, I would suggest changing out the fluid to see if that helps quiet things a bit.
  2. I had triple treads on my 97 for a while. They are great tires IMHO.
  3. Mike, did you still want those snow tires? If so, I can bring them and they are yours... for the bargin price of FREE.
  4. The plus one and I will try to make it, but I keep thinking we have to go out to the farm and hang with her parents or somesing...
  5. I blame Phil.... But outside of that, Colonel Mustard has been having some carb issues. Hopeful that this will be taken care of soon after a Weber install
  6. I think "normal" is between 6-800 rpm. Mine usually hangs between 6-700.
  7. I have the same type of noise with Don ('97 OBW) at just about the same speeds and exercises the same behavior. Don's happens to be the rear diff. I haven't worried too much about it since there doesn't seem to be any grinding or popping going on. I have just been a little more deligent about changing the fluid and such... I bought the wagon with 168k on the ticker. Now he has 204k and still runs strong.
  8. At first, I was looking for a "Requires carbon dating technique", but then I found the right clicky box....
  9. Uhm. Ok, but if one of the Jerry guys aren't going.... ~sigh~ Nevermind.
  10. The very idea of riding in a car with no airconditioning, and a slew of hot, sweaty menz is most appealing, but if Jerry isn't going, what's the point?
  11. I hate everyone, so I'm not going..... Take THAT mr banana man!
  12. BFG mtr's are very nice. I would second these tires, and I am pretty sure that BFG makes them in a 14" size.... unlike the Kumho's MT.
  13. I'll probably need to miss out on this one; getting married n stuff...
  14. "Colonel Mustard" at the Colorado Pirate's meet. -'84 GL wagon. -3" BYB lift -14" pugs w/ Kumho MTs -Rear disk conversion -Steele lines -Durabak coating all around to help prevent the rust. -Monkey in the window. -Headrest dew rag (1.2hp as per the butt dyno) -Cowbell... definitely need more cowbell. I also have pics of the lifted 97 LOBW somewhere, but I'm feeling lazy right now. MODERATOR EDIT, HERES A PIC OF THE OBW:
  15. Hmmm... When and if my steel tube front bumper gets done, I will gladly donate the old skin to your cause j.
  16. He owes me the least of anyone here. He never made any effort to contact me, let alone refund my payment... its been just over a year now. I guess that somehow makes everything "ok" ??? Not cool.
  17. CCR motors are bad? Nothing could be farther from the truth IMHO.
  18. Nice to meet some new faces! One of these days I will invest in a camera. Until then... post up
  19. I just got back from playing in the mud. I'm glad the wagon knew what to do. I was definitely the n00bert. Fun stuff, and I have a very early Sunday morning of cleaning to look forward to.
  20. If you would like something a little more "huggy", you can go for a set of '02 or newer Impreza seats without a problem. I fit a set of '05 RS seats in my '97 Outback. They sit up a tad higher, but I wouldn't trade them out for the world
  21. Arvada caravan from Hobby Lobby parking lot which is just off of 80th and Wadsworth. We will leave by 9:15 am or so.
