  1. My old 84 wagon wasn't pretty to begin with, but it did help to remove the chrome trim around the rain gutters... Here is a picture after I removed it.
  2. Never been afraid to put time into restoring my cars. Some would say I am a little OCD Great advice, all. I will get some pics of the before and after when the weather warms up a bit.
  3. Not rust. They are aluminum. Any other ideas? The gold middle isn't too bad. It is the aluminum ring on the outside that needs the most work.
  4. Check your plug wires. This happened to me after I rebuilt the motor in my OBW...
  5. How would HID light reflect any differently than halogen light? A projector with halogens can "blind" drivers (EDM pattern vs. JDM pattern). Anyway, off topic... sorry. HID kits work very well. I have used them w/o trouble in the past.
  6. 05 anyday IMHO. They are so much more refined and ride very well. They also have a bit more ground clearance that the 2nd gens. I do not agree with those that say they handle more like an SUV... Test drive them both. I think you will agree.
  7. Got mine yesterday. Very fun for sure! Thanks, j.
  8. I have a set of the 13", eight spoke gold Enkies, but they are pretty corroded around the once polished lip, and a bit on the gold itself. I tried a little mother's polish, but it did not do a thing. What do you all use to restore a nice little set of wheels? Thanks, j.
  9. I will only add that you should wait for a warm day OR leave the car in a heated garage before you pull the panels... But yes, the sills will simply pull out.
  10. Thanks. Ralphie is still covered with snow. I will get some pics when things clear up.
  11. Yeah, I will definitely get some pictures tonight. It isn't "RUST FREE", but it isn't a bucket either. I am not looking to "get rich" off the little guy. I just want to price him fairly for someone that will take care of it and have fun restoring it like I planned to do.
  12. Hi everyone, I have an 85 Brat that I will need to sell since I picked up the 86 hatch. I would love to keep both, but I just don't have the space to do that. Brown w/ white snowflake rims and good Kumho rubber (just bought the tires six months ago). The tan interior is shot, but I have all of the components, including an uncracked dash, to make the inside VERY nice as there were plans to restore it. All guages in the cluster currently work. Body is good, and all 4 mudflaps are in tact. It does have some rust that is starting to eat its way into the nooks around the fenders. Rust has also made its way in the usual place in the rear fenders. I have knocked the majority of the rot out and coated it with black paint and undercoating. The worst of the rust is on the passenger door, but I have a door to replace it with. The unibody frame is sound and has no rust. It also has a white topper. The motor always starts and idles and has no leaks. It ran very strong when I picked it up but has since started bucking and then stalls out. It starts right back up again, revs, but again bucks and stalls out once you start to drive it. I am guessing a rebuild of the Hitachi would fix it (float maybe). My question is, what is the Brat is worth given the above info? I will try to get some pictures up tonight.
  13. My bet is on the fuel filter. Don behaved the exact same way last winter... start then die, then no start. I replaced the fuel filter and I haven't had a problem with him since.
  14. Btw, the front seat travel in this thing is a little short! DeMoss, you job is going to be helping me to find some older 02-03 OR some newer 04 WRX seats. I also need to install the NGK ingnition wires and MSD coil sometime after the weekend move into the new house. Saturday, 9:30am at my parent's house for those that are interested in helping. Give me a ring and I will get you directions.
