You will need to grind the base elbow of the bracket so that it fits with the EA82 SPFI manifold. That is as far as I made it before I traded my wagon for a brat.

My '97 has 212k. The steering rack is finally at a point to be replaced as it is leaking pretty good now. Smells great burning off the header everyday, and the looks from folks arond me; "No, the car is not going to blow up, people"... Anyway, just an FYI and a testament to the rack's reliability.

Uh, no. It does not. I think a few people thought the poor wagon was going to blow up as I was driving it home. Shawn said it looked pretty funny with all the smoke pluming about.

My '97 has the deflector similar to the red Legacy above. I refinished it because I couldn't find the OEM type anywhere.

Wow, I feel very silly aboot this.

I don't know why, but pictures of anyone peering out of an empty engine bay always makes me giggle a bit...

I have the same issue with the 97 oem wires, and the motor uses the regular NA manifold... Anyway, the WRX wires are a bit longer so it might be worth a try.
