EA82 Hydraulic Lifter Fix
Submerge them in a coffee can with enough oil in there (MMO works, or mix MMO with motor oil) and submerge each one under the oil, and pump the lifter (if it won't pump, that's fine, means there is oil in it) That's what I did when I redid the heads on the turbowagon before WCSS6, no tick...

Subaru ff-1 In Oregon
ahh okay, not the oen I almost got :-( Did you get it from an older man who had bought it new? Used to be one in Albany that this older gentleman drove, he called me once cuz a couple of my friends told him I was a Subaru freak, and he needed a master cylinder or something for it.

grrr dagum smoke!
okay, turbowagon has started smoking. Only gave me a nice blue cloud ONCE when i stood on it going around a corner, but what its current habit is, is a nice puff-cloud if I coast down in gear. I found the rough idle/dying problem I think, found a hose that is sucking air that doesn't have a clamp on it, hopefully that stops the idle problems. As for the smoke, I really hope it's just a PCV, but if it's rings, I might be needing an SPFI short block in the near future...

Subaru ff-1 In Oregon
wait, so the car you just sold to Paul, is the one I almost bought from west scio auto salvage? Well, at least it didnt' get crushed.. The one they had, if I remember correctly, was missing one of the quarter windows.. I did manage to save the keys and the rear emblem though

*Kiwi accent* "HEy! is that your Brumby?"
WEren't they called like MPV or something to that effect?

And the RX continues...
Yeah it's a 2.7, but I have one in my shed all ready for it, just have to put it in :-P Thanks for the offer though, Bill... I might be in need of a short block though, depending on if I have shot rings or not...

It's Gone !!!
yeah if the title is in his name, and he went throught the legal process to obtain title for it, then the previous owner's title is null and void and he has no legal right to the vehicle. The fact they took 4 days and you had to call THEM, is very suspicious, I'd be gettting SOA and the cops involved ASAP

Subaru ff-1 In Oregon
I was THIS close to having one of those, 1970 4 door, from West Scio Auto Salvage, and the $*$*$@#$ crushed it the day before I came to get it, and the f*cker knew I wanted it and knew I had the money too, I was sooooo peeved..

And the RX continues...
The work party might be to fix mine... Damn blown head gasket! (Or cracked head, one of the two... Along with a sh*tty tranny..)

Vanagon, VW bug... whatever
Bugs are air cooled, most vanagons are water cooled (I think 83 or 84 was the last year for air cooled vanagons) so the logistics of putting a water cooled engine in is a lot easier (Although it can be done in a bug)

Onstar '03 OB sedan
Hondasucks replied to Joe719's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXyeah OnStar was in the LL Bean Outbacks (adn the H6 3.0 high end model too IIRC) but was dropped after GM flew the coop. Might have to go to a GM dealer to get it activated. If you don't want to go that route, here is a good article on hacking the GPS in the OnStar box so you can use it http://gps.hackaday.com/entry/1234000170038047/ shows how to put the chip into NMEA mode and feed the output to a laptop or palm PC or something, I didn't read all of it since I don't have an OnStar box to tinker with.

87 Turbowagon.. 15psi... Help!
I guess as long as the turbo wooshing noise doesn't turn into rattling and a cloud of smoke, I'll be okay.. I really need to put my intercooler on, and my BOV...and my 5th injector...
-
'84 Brat, engine swap and now alternator lights on? *FIXED!*
Put the other alternator in, see if it still does it.

87 Turbowagon.. 15psi... Help!
Okay for some reason when I stand on the loud pedal, my boost will hit 9PSI, and then creep up to 10 in the course of a few seconds then it JUMPS to 15! Sometimes even 20! I dont' hear any pinging (But I don't hold it at boost, I try to regulate it with the throttle to around 10) but I guess the two things I'm curious about: 1) What the $*$*@# is going on? Is it the boost control solenoid that I read about while poking through Alldata at school? (Nothing much about it but that it was used at high altitude) 2) Fuel cut? Shouldnt' my fuel cut hit at 9.5 psi? I can sustain it at 12psi (about as high as I will hold it for more than a few seconds) and no sign of a fuel cut, but MAN does she pull...

New Turbowagon...needs help
Convert that bizznatch to a 5 speed :-P Also, you can drop in an EA82T provided it is 85-86, it's BIT tight but it fits, seen it done in a Brat.
