ford taurus map light on loyale = pics inside
Some Crown Vics have like a snakelight type thing for the map light, it folds up when not in use, and then you can fold it down and pivot it wherever you need light. Not sure what years had 'em, my cousin had one in his Mustang, said it was out of a Crown Vic.

Determining rare soob, with no production nfo
When I did my 83, I cut the hole out at the bottom as you mentioned, and I just took the ash tray out and put the power mirror switch where the ash tray was (you have to sort of wedge it in there, but it fits)

Seat belt light....
Hondasucks replied to ericem's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe seat belt control unit is on the driver's side of the car, mounted to the strut tower in the rear. For wagons, you'll have to remove the speaker (Might have to remove the whole side trim for the cargo area, but IIRC it's under teh speaker) and for sedal models, you'll have to remove the rear seat back, which is not too difficult. You *might* be able to get at it from inside the trunk but I'm not sure. It's a black box with a connector on it, will probably say "timer unit" or "Seat belt timer" or something to that effect on it. If that's unplugged, the auto belts won't work and the light won't come on, however it could be cooked and just not making the light come on.

XT rear seat lock removal
I've got an 86 XT that the rear seat in it is trashed, but since I have the original key, I can still lock the rear seat. I got some seats out of an XT6 and I'd like to retain the locking function, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the lock cylinder out of the seat, any suggestions? I don't care if I trash the original seat since the cover is trashed anyway, but I don't want to fubar the new seat if I can help it.

How the F*@# do U get the Hub Nut off??
I've discovered that an impact wrench is a lot easier and a lot more fun than a breaker bar when it comes to axle nuts... But not everyone has a compressor, and most electric impact guns suck lol

Big Thank you for Zap and Ken,and crew
Yeah thanks a bunch to everyone who had a hand in organizing things, I'd like to help out next year, since I'll be in Oregon lol, I really wanted to chase down those jackasses in the old (75 or so) full size Ford and 80s Ranger that showed up right after the mud pit was winding down, and right after the cops left, the full size decided to sit there and rev his engine like he was cool, and then the Ranger did a mad cookie and really tore the %$*%* out of the grass.. if I had had my dodge I woulda blocked the exit so they couldn't get out lol.. I sure hope they(And the dillweed in the STi who decided to do a cookie, then ignore Ken when he chased him down hollering) don't make the fair people decide not to have us back next year. And I was not one of the loud people SAturday night as I left at like 10:30 lol (and if I had been there, I would have been respectful and quiet)

Ed beat me to the "first" pics, but here's my pics from the show, if you see a good pic of your car in there you can get a hi-res print from Webshots for pretty cheap, or click "view full size" and download the hi-res version. http://community.webshots.com/user/hondasucks1983/ They are in the "WCSS8" album.

West Coast Subaru Show #8 date and venue decided.
My dog won't be there (he's too wild for crowds) but if anyone has a dog that likes to bark, those electronic bark collars work wonders! The battery died in mine but whenever we put it on him, he refuses to bark lol.

Who needs a truck when you have a wagon?
I've had three in the back of my 77..... and six in the back seat..... ... and two in the passenger seat ----all at the same time :-P Shoulda seen the look on my friends dad's face when the 12 of us were standing in front of his house and he's like "how'd you call get here?" and we all turned and looked at the Subaru and he just shook his head and walked back inside...

1987 Subaru GL sudden transmission problems - Help.Advice?
Sounds like the high/reverse band/clutch gave up the ghost, or the hydraulic actuator did. Yank the engine, do a re-seal, and either rebuild the transmission or convert it to a manual. (or sell it to one of us for cheap lol)

90 legacy heater/AC control problem
My 1990 legacy wagon has issues with the heater controls, there is a constant squeak squeak squeak from under the dash, sometimes goes away when you shut the ventilation system off. Also, the heater/AC controls dont' always work, the air doesn't like to come out of where you have it set (when I first got it, air blew out the defroster vents regardless of where you had the controls set, then after a while it would switch) and the blower fan works when it wants to. For example, tonight I was trying to charge the AC and I'd hit the "A/C" button and the light would come on, but the compressor wouldn't engage, and if I started pushing buttons I got the AC to kick on and the fan to come on, but it's really annoying like in the morning when I'm driving to work and freezing my arse off because the only air flow I'm getting is the natural flow through the car, same deal on the way home when its 90+ out and I've got the windows down and the sunroof open because the fan won't work... but it's intermittent so I'm not too sure where to start, I suspect that the control unit is bad but I don't know how to test it. Also, if it is bad, is it possible to swap in the electronic climate control?

If in Denver, go to Summit Auto -- OMG!! (with pics)
Hondasucks replied to BeefaRu's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXSounds wicked, aside from the Duracrap Better than a Powerchoke but sure as $#($( ain't a Cummins (although in the interest of weight savings, a Cummins wouldn't be a wise choice, my 92 weighs like 1200lbs) GET PICS!
