  5. Locked rearends in the snow can save you, or screw you. You have to be very aware of how the car reacts, and it could be just the slope of the road or spining the tires that will send you off the main road and right down F st if you know what I mean. It wont mess anything up driving down the road with a welded diff, I have 3 or 4 rigs with welded diffs and I drive them everywhere, the chirp of the tires gets everones attention at the gas station and they think you have something wrong with your rig that about the only thing that sucks............... Jeff

  7. There are about 8 of us that have ran with the belts open, only one time have we had problems, and that was Woody, the 8" lifted car, he was driving through snow and it got built up on the cam gear and knocked the timing off, he was pushing snow with his bumper, the good news was it took 4 sec. to put it back on................. Jeff

  10. I'm not 100% sure if Loyals and DL's are the same but I thought I would try this with an 87DL Wagon, and Put the GL style dash in it. I found right off the bat the the plugs are totally different, the only way to do it would to be, rewire a ton of stuff. Dont get me wrong I'm sure it could be done but it looks to be a huge can of worms................... Jeff

You can call me an rump roast too if you want, but For you your best bet is to. 1) Put and Axle in 2)Replace your Trans. With the stock 4 speed 3)keep your EA81 in it 4)Use the search button / Dive into a project and Figure it out I put and EA81 in an EA82 car, I didnt ask 5 billion questions along the way, I did research and did it, you'll figure things out as you go, or end up selling the parts for it and then the rig............. Also you need to drop your crossmember in your car if you havn't, EA81 axles cant take the angle like an EA82.................... I've wheeled years with an 82 Brat and 4" lift, there is no reason to try and do all these things with your knowledge your in over your head. Jeff
