Reiter Pit / somewhere run
Boy, I don't plan on going into anything like that with mine. I still have a 16" hole in my hood. The hole is for "Maximum Preformane" ,It was a drunk Idea in the shop one night. Good thing I quit drinking. Jeff

I talked to Todd (todds) today, He said he might pull the old green Brat out, there still is a big maybe, but it would be cool if he could make it out to come play. Jeff

Reiter Pit / somewhere run
I finally welded my rearend up. It wheels a lot better, but It seems to like to go through the rear axles. I don't like that. Jeff

4 speed vs 5 speed 4 wheel drive
I might just not need to use 5th gear unless I'm going down hill off the pass. With the 4 speed in it now in 4th gear at freeway speed 60-65 mph, my spedo says 42-45mph at about 1900 to 2100 rpm. but I think the gears are shorter on the way shifting up which would help. Jeff

4 speed vs 5 speed 4 wheel drive
Will the clutch kit fit on the splines of the five speed from the 4 speed? or do I need to change that all out too? Jeff

Heater Fan quit
I got into it, and did all the stuff you guys said. I still had no fan blowing, so I took the blower motor apart, just to find that it had work the brushes all the way down the the copper wire, then through the wire. The only thing left was the spring and a lot of shavings. Jeff

4 speed vs 5 speed 4 wheel drive
Would there any advatages to putting a five speed 4x4 tranny in my Brat. My reverse pops out all the time, and I have a five speed sitting on the ground in my shop with the drive line. I just want to know if it's a good idea or not. Jeff

1600 or 1800 engine, how can you tell ?!
1600 (ea71) have a light blue valve cover, While 1800(ea81) has A more green or sea green color to it. Thats the main way I always tell. Jeff

Heater Fan quit
I'll check it out. I have the blower motor out and there wasn't any kind of nest in there I was thinking the same thing. But It could be that one of those blocks just "gave up" it has 225,000 miles on it so little things like this might be bound to happen. Thank you for the advice. Jeff

Heater Fan quit
The heater fan in my 88 wagon has gone south. I took the dash part off to check the switch, levels 2 and 3 already didn't work, I was unable to get any power out of it. I then checked the fan, no power there either. Yesterday I smelled "something" burning, I think it was wires:rolleyes: , then today It stopped working all together. Oh the fuse is still good too. I have no idea what to do. Jeff

Reiter Pit / somewhere run
I think I'm going to bring my Brat. I would like to take the wagon but I've only driven it up and down the road next to my house. I just don't want to work the bugs out 75 miles away from home. My Buddy Jake wants to come to, he has an 80 Brat, I sold it to him about 4 months ago. He's a little wild so he's going to run his down on a trailer just in case. Cody (numberonestunner) is going to try and get the day off too he just wants to go for a drive. He recently bought a 77 wagon from me and wants to get it cleaned out with a good drive. Will, will probably come too he's got an 82 lifted wagon. I'm really looking forward to this. I think I might get a muffler on the brat before I go too. That thing is so loud driving down the freeway I can't even hear the radio. Jeff

Reiter Pit / somewhere run
It is just past Monroe, and Sultan I think that it is really in Startup. It takes about an hour and fifteen min. to get there from my house which is right off College Way, That's if you go highway 9.

Reiter Pit / somewhere run
I can't say I won't break anything, But I'll try not to. I'm going to bring an extra rear axle, and misc. parts that have been a problem area in the past. What day would work the best for everyone? I don't care what day it is. Maybe a sunday? I only say Sunday because Woody is working 6-10s Mon-Sat at his work right now. If sunday doesn't work he just might have to miss out. Jeff

Reiter Pit / somewhere run
Does anyone want to meet up and go for a Mud run? I think Reiter Pit or if somebody has a special place to go it would be fun. I kinda wanna go wheeling, but I don't want to go by myself. And I havn't seen alot of the Subaru guys in a while. hope to here from some people. Jeff

first pic of new lifted 83 wagon
I'm going to steer clear of Walker for a while. I have the worst luck there, and they are in the process of removing the gravel pit. That last time I went up there I think was my last. Big rocks and my car do not get along. But Reiter pit would be fun. I went down there about 3 years ago, it seems like zap was saying there are hard trails and not so hard trails. My rigs are just not the ultimate Wheeling machines, as much as I want them to be they are not. I don't want to take it somewhere where its going to break. Then I have a weeks worth of work replacing the broken parts. So I'll play it cool and not go places I know will totally tear my car apart. Jeff

first pic of new lifted 83 wagon
The doors are all good, but it is just below the doors where things get real rusty. once you get to the bottom where you can jack the car up it's good again. It's just below the doors.

first pic of new lifted 83 wagon
I have an '86 hatch that still needs a lift, but I think I might do a gen 3 next. It'll probably just be a 4" just like this, except for I might try and find a less rusty car .This blue wagon has no rocker panels and there are a few soft spots here and there. But I figure i'll use it for wheelin', no since in smash up a nice "solid' subaru right.
