  4. I think I sent you a pm. Jeff
  5. Hey zefy, If you want to you can meet up w/ us we're in Mt Vernon. Right off the free way you can roll with us if you want that way you won't be left out in the middle of nowhere if somthing were to happen. There is a sign on the freeway that says vancouver 86 miles or 137km, I don't know if that is right but I think its close, so It really isn't all that far. I'll pm you and let you know what we've got going on. Jeff
  6. What have other people done with the lengthening of the steering shaft for a 6" lift we've ran it to a few problems:confused: . Jeff
  7. They'll fit, like mcbrat said it'll take some cuttting. I got 30x9.5x15 on mine, can't turn worth a poo poo though. My wheels are 15x10 and the tires really mesure out to be 31s. Just keep that in mine. drive straight and you'll be fine, that's what I do.:-\ Jeff
  8. I really didn't think about the different thermostats temps that would make a difference. That would have been kinda nice to know before I went on the trip. It scared me being 250miles away from home and see you car start to over heat in the middle of the desert. Thanks for the anwser. Jeff
  9. This last weekend I drove over to the Tri-cities. On my way there it was hot 105. As I was driving I noticed that my BRAT wanted to over heat on the up hill climbs. I was running it hard but I've never had that happen before. Does that happen to everyone else? Jeff
  10. Heck yeah we'll have a hell of a convoy. Where do you live at? Jeff
  11. The Northern Alliance is planning to have quite a few come down, the following would be. ME, '82 brat my brother in law will be w/ me he'll have a ford. Woody '85 brat todd '82 brat not sure what else he might bring (?brown brat or battle wagon?) jake '8? hatch brian '85 wagon kluggie '8? hatch chris '83 wagon bradly '85 hatch pat possibly '8? wagon mark '8? hatch Cody '87 xt That's just the cars not to mention who their bringing. Im sure there are a few i'm missing and they'll hate me for it but those are the ones I could think of off the top 'o my head. But for me 2. Jeff
  12. I going to be cruzing through on saturday again on my long venture to the tri-cities. If you guys get up early on saturday I'd like to meet up somewhere and see what you guys got going on. Carfreak85 told me to drop a line the next time I go through. So I did let me know. Jeff
  13. Oh ok. The only reason I bring that gearing deal up is because I have heard the '82s have a different gearing. But i'm not 100% sure. W/ my old tranny at 70mph I would turn 4050k rpms with 185/80/13 tires. While my buddy w/ an 85 hatch turned 3000 rpm with 175/70/13. I even had bigger tire which would have lowerd my rpm. I think that makes since. Jeff
  14. I'll give that a try, and see what happens. Jeff
  15. What do you mean how many gears do I have? Jeff
  16. That tranny must be out of something else cause it has hi & low ranges on it. If it did have the 3.7 and 3.9 and I was in 4 wheel drive would that do anything? Jeff
  17. In my 82 Brat i have gone through 7 cv axles since nov. it's pissing me off good. What would make them keep going out. Their new and napa's so what could it be. I did change the tranny out of an 80 wagon into my 82 Brat. I was thinking the gearing from the 80 to the 82 could be screwing everything and making the whole deal bind. I'm gonna put the rear end from the 80 in it too and see if that'll help. Jeff
  18. Mine has 253,000 miles and its the coolest thing ever. Just keep oil and water in it and it'll go 400,000 miles! How much are they asking? Jeff
  19. That looks like it will work well. The only problem is the rain, I have a weber on my brat with a 2"x16" hole in the hood. Yesterday there was water in the distr. and carb , thing would not run. But you probably don't get much rain where you're at. Looks like it will be cool. Jeff
  20. I would have gladly stopped by, but I don't know where any one is at. Jeff
  21. I drove through there on saturday w/ mine and nobody saw me. Jeff
  22. I just went through all this stuff a while back. I had this pounding sound in the front end so I changed out the cv axles. That helped a little then it got worse. I changed out the wheel bar. on both sides, still had the sound, then I got new ball joints. Now things are smooth as glass. Jeff
  23. I just picked up an xt6 for 700 bones. Other than a dead batt. it's perfect except for one thing, the air bags are blown out. I was wondering how hard they are to change. I haven't even taken a look at it yet, cause I just got it last night in the dark. I hope its not to hard. Jeff
  24. can you switch control a locking rear end in an XT and say put it in an 85 hatch.
