trails in northern idaho?
I'd cool it down if I where you uberoo. Sound like you have some really bad luck with a few of your stunts over the last couple of days. The last thing I would do is start "urban wheeling" in the middle of the night without any correct paper work on my car. I even get that done and I lived in the county back in the day, and I could have gotten away with it but it makes life a whole lot easier in the long run and cheaper. I just got a ticket in my Brat on Jan 22nd for no insurance I knew I didn't have it but I was stupid and drove up to wills house that is about 30 miles away. And I got nailed. In Washington State it is 539.00 bucks alone for no proof and thats what I got. But I got it all Legal now. So anyways I thought I might Add my 2 cent worth to something you wrote on here. Jeff

Looking at a 91 Legacy
one eye replied to Optimator's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe Legacy I just bought makes for 10 subaru's that i own right now, And I still caught my self checking Craigslist for more. I quite drinking two years ago on Feb 28th so I think I repaced my drinking with buying Subaru's......Hello everyone my name is Jeff P. and I'm a Subaholic. But anyways The car should be bought and save it for a rainy day. The best part is, Is that even if you have it there and you fix it up a little here and there you can sell it for a whole lot more in the long run. It would be a good investment if anything. Jeff

Looking at a 91 Legacy
one eye replied to Optimator's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXJust get it. I just got one for 200 bucks. I don't ever pass up a Subaru under 250. you can always use it for parts if worst comes to worst. I would go get it and fix 'er up. Jeff

One step forward in the subaru world
one eye replied to one eye's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI don't know if it'll go up to walker. I think this one will be more for the road, and I'll keep the Brat for Walker and the mud. I would like to get a Legacy Wagon and lift it like that one on the AA lifts website. This is it I think this thing look really cool. Jeff

Scott I checked my messages on my phone and saw that you had called me sorry I didn't return the call yet, Ive been a bit under the weather for the last couple of days. :-\ I'll give you a call this Afternoon. Jeff- One step forward in the subaru world
one eye replied to one eye's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThanks for the warm welcome. It's good to know that there are few guys out there Like me. The very first subaru I had was an 80 hatch 2wd with an EA71, then I got a 79 brat. From there on out I ended up with 2 lifted EA81's and Just latly I had gotten into the EA82's. Once I saw this car I figured it's real close to my house, Cheap, and if I screw up real bad on it I won't be out much. So I was one of those guys who was always going to be the die hard EA series guy for ever and here I am, Putting Timing belts on an EJ22. Jeff- One step forward in the subaru world
one eye replied to one eye's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXVery nice. Those ones work. That'll all help me. Jeff- One step forward in the subaru world
one eye replied to one eye's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXRight on that'll help a lot. I have about 6 or 7 subaru books but none of them went into good detail like this. And there was alot, lot of reading involved, without pics. I wish Subaru manuels came in pop up book verison:rolleyes: then that would be right up my alley. the links that I quoted did not work but the Endwrench ones did. Thank you Jeff- One step forward in the subaru world
This is my first post in the "newer Gen's" of this subaru Forum. I have had over 35 Subaru's but I seemed to have stepped out side of my box on my last Subaru buy. I have had Brat's, Gen 1 and 2, Wagons, 77-89, and hatchbacks, But yesterday I was on craigslist and I saw a 91 Legacy for 200 bucks, So I called the person up and they said that it had broken a timing belt back in 05, They took it to a shop and had it replaced but they said they could never get it running again after that. I pulled it home and put it on the charger, and about midnight last night turned it over. Someone has taken the mass air flow sen. but it was able to make a little bit of a running sound, or at least enough to let you know that it had fuel and spark and a little bit of firing over left in it. The real bad part of this is I don't know much at all about these kind of cars. All the old school ones are pretty easy to work on but this one kinda scares me a little. I just want everone to know that I might be asking some very stupid question's but That's the only way to learn. So here goes my first stupid one. Are wheels and bolt pattern on the legacy's are 5 on 100 I did a seach but there are a crap load of things to go through in a search with "bolt pattern" Anyways once I dive into this thing a little more I'll have a ton of Q's. Here is what it looks like nothing to great but it should be fun. Jeff- Walker Run March 15th 2008
I just hope that's not me, but You know you do owe me a pull if worst comes to worst. Jeff- New to me 87 RX (horay!)
Since all this is way over my head I would just like to add to all this, I just want to see the big boom that it makes the day she lets loose and you end up shooting the bottom end out, and into or maybe even through the intake manifold. I don't hope that it happens but if it does I just hope the camera is rolling. If that doesn't happen I hope that it is the fastest RX in the States all said and done, Then I can say, "ya... he built that thing in my garage." Jeff- Roxy Is Lifted.
I get the same stare from people in my brat It has a 4" lift . They are either staring at the brat or maybe at me and my sweet 1987 Dokken style mullet, heck maybe it's just the combo of the two. Jeff- Roxy Is Lifted.
That Is cool, I want to lift a sedan, but I don't have one, so I can't. But if I were to lift one I'd wish that it would end up like that. Job very well done!!!!! Jeff- Axles will not divorce the diff
I put anti seize on mine once I put it all back together, I hope to never have that problem again. It sucks! Either that or grease the crap out of it. Jeff- This weather has me all excited!
Hey are you ever going to come out and come play with us? If you put a 2"er on your car you would be right up town. March 15th is a run to walker if you wanna come. Jeff- The XT is missing on # 1
This is kinda a bad pic but you can see the Green where the wires where toasted bad. Not only that it looked live someone drove this thing across the Skagit River during Flood season......without using the bridge. That kills is what kills the wires. I'll post a better pic later, I left my camera in the shop and I have not put my shoes on yet. :-) Jeff- The XT is missing on # 1
We got it all back together, But ........... the power steering pump was bad on it, so since we where there we figured we would just fix it too. come to find out that power steering pump on the XT is a lot different than on a regular gen 3 wagon so We changed overthing over to the bracket so it would work right. Well some where in the change over things didn't work out so good cause we were able to shread a belt in about 30 sec. the pully seems to kinda be bent in some way or another. not a big deal yet just making more work for tomorrow. :-\ Jeff- How much would you pay? 86 wagon
Today my dad talked to the guy who owns the wagon, I had talked to my dad about what everyone one the board had said, My Dad asked him what he wanted for It and he said 800 bucks firm. So the deal is over. My dad didn't bother to try and explain anything to him or even give him his price so This Subaru can sit for ever for that much money for all I care. I do have to say thank you to all of you that replied to my post. I give you guys alot of the credit for saving me or my Dad from buying a P.O.S. Jeff PS I do get $50 out of the deal for putting in one of my starters, So it is not a complete loss to me:grin:- The XT is missing on # 1
That link you sent us was very helpful, mine was just as bad as the pics that other fella had, we are right in the middle of putting all back together. Jeff- The XT is missing on # 1
this is what I've done so far is look for a strpped wire somewhere in the harness thus is what it looks like. I think I've been looking in the wrong place:rolleyes: Jeff- The XT is missing on # 1
Wow, this is becoming more and more confusing to me. I hate trying to play the what wire to check game:-\ . Chris are you getting all of this? I know the average person would be able to understand all this But I know nothing about Electrical stuff. If I can't run it straight off the Batt. I'm going to have a hard time. Jeff- How much would you pay? 86 wagon
I got one Just last week it was an 85 wagon it has not pump or any power stearing lines anywhere on it, and its a GL. Looks Like I got a one of kind, Lucky me. No power Stearing:rolleyes: That's my luck Jeff- The XT is missing on # 1
I checked it with the spark plug on the wire and The wire itself, I have not done an inline check yet. Compression Check is going to happen tomorrow morning. I was thinking and even said it to Chris right at the end I wonder if there is Bent valve or just a bad cyclnder. It does not have the TOD or anything like that. The worst part is, is that sometimes it runs perfect, It didn't do that today but the last time I drove it was last winter and it was about 30 sum deg. out and it ran great for 5 days and then it started missing again. I have replaced the cap and rotor, plug and wire. so I am pretty sure it is not a spark issue. I think that it is in the wires that tell the injector to shoot the fuel but I don't know where in the car to try to find this "place" to fix it at Jeff - Walker Run March 15th 2008
