Chevy wheel swap Q?
For 16" wheels you are on your own I don't know what size you are gong to want I would think it would have to be a very low profile tire. The most common size would be probably a 225/60/16 but I don't know what that would mesure up to be in Inches. You could get the measurement like this 225mm wide 60% of 225mm is the height and once you get a number there add 16" for the wheel. This is what it looks like writen out. 225mm x60%=135mm high=5.3Inches top and 5.3inches bottom = 10.6 + 16" wheel+ 26.6" tire and wheel total height. If you measure from the hub to the front of the fender or top of the fender well you can only have 13.3" (1/2 of 26.6) of area where a tire this size would fit. That's kinda confusing but read it twice it'll make sense. 13.3 does not count for any travel your shocks may move so keep that in mind to you would honestly pobably want something in a 40 series tire. try that formula with a 40% instead of a 60% and see what you get. Thats all I got Jeff

Chevy wheel swap Q?
I would ask for toyota wheels before the chevy wheels because of that centering up tab issue. the other thing is don't go with to far of an offset with a wide tire or you will be hammering your fender wells I just did the same thing today. a 195/60/15 Would be about the biggest you would want to go or else its hammer time. I have a 220/55/390 (pugs They are the metric wheels and tires) and it hits just a little bit nothing like the 195/75/14 with a little offset That ended up taking some tread along with it. it's Very bad news. Chevy wheel swap Q?
I put 15x10" 76 Chevy Blazer Wheels on my brat The only problem I had was the little tabs that line the wheel up on the hub had to be ground down, since the chevy wheel hub is to small to fit the tab liner uppers. Toyota wheels will go right on. Just take a rear drum and remove two of the studs opposite of eachother bolt the hub to the wheel and flip it over, Drill straight through the back side of the drum into the wheel to make a hole. After that give it a 60 deg bevel and put it on the suby. Then you are good to go. You can do that instead of drilling the hubs Its a lot faster and easier. And Just for the record I have never lost a wheel or had a hard time at the tire shop. I might be a little off the subject but I thought That, that might help in your quest for bigger wheels and tires. Jeff

Saturday Feb 9th 11:00 Bellingham WA Scotts shop Birthday Run and shop get together
That was a pretty good time. There were a lot of things that went wrong, but Thats all part of the fun. Scotts car made it home the rest of the way from Deming back to his place with a little help, He probably could have made it at the cost of one EA82 but all in all it was a good time. Jeff

What does the mv stand for and what is a brumby. I know that they are Brats and I know what Brat stands for but not the others. It's a little off this topic but I was just wondering since I saw it here. Jeff

Is everyone going to leave you place right at 11:00 or is everyone going to hang out for a while. I think I'm going to drive up the new wagon but I don't think it's ready for any type of four wheeling yet. Jeff

is Overcooling bad?
I have the same problem in my hatch, just after you start it and let it sit its fine it goes up to normal and stays. The minute you start to drive and get the wind blowing through it the heat goes away in the motor and worst of all inside the car it's self. It makes for a very cold ride. Jeff

89 Touring wagon
If I can find my little cable that goes from my camera to the computer I'll post a picture of it. I just this morning, put some 14" wheels on it with 195/75/14's it looks pretty cool now and even cooler that it runs. Jeff

89 Touring wagon
I got an 89 Touring wagon about 3 weeks ago, I was totally excited about it because it is the cleanest Subaru I've ever bought. The only problem with it was it had a blown head gasket. I had a motor that I rebuilt sitting on the floor in my shop so I changed everything over the day after I got it. I was so sure that the motor was going to run that I put it 100% back together before even seeing if it would sorta run for a few seconds. So I get it in there and It would run but not good at all. I tought I had messed up rebuilding it. So I messed around with a ton of little things but nothing seemed to make it run better. Last night my buddy Cody stoped by and Changed two of the Spark plug Wires around and it runs Like a top. I felt pretty stupid but I'm happy to have it running perfect. I just wanted to share my story of stupidity with everyone. Or maybe I can be spokesman for always check the easiest thing that's probably what it is. Jeff

save this suby
I had one just about like that, mine was a little newer (77) and a bit more rounded. I just sold it for 400 bucks about 3 months ago. Jeff

Lets see the brats.
I'll sell you two. I got a set of Six. They are black though I don't know if that bothers you. Jeff

Front Fenders
The DL marker lights are real thin where the clear plastic is at, That way it can fit the two headlights on each side. The fenders are the same the light is about an inch and a half more narrow. I think yyou can swap the whole headlight getup into a DL then the corner markers would work. Jeff

useful tire size calculator
That's pretty cool, If I'm going 42mph in my brat I'm really going 60.016mph. I figured 42mph was freeway speed in the Brat. Jeff
