  1. my legacy is the same way- 393k miles now, one of 6 300k plus cars i have,
  2. ive built several. but heres a secret- by the time you buy the materials and hardware, and beer and tacos for your buddies to come help you, and invest days of time into fabbing and welding- the cost of an SJR kit will become a welcome relief. so- in conclusion, do it right the first time. scott, and others bust thier rump roast to make goofball parts for us. fork over the dough good buddy. you wont regret it
  3. there is no timing on any ej series engine, put it on and have fun
  4. i cant afford this one right now gys and gals, some one scoop it up
  5. Posting pictures here is a pain in my rump roast. Easy on email
  6. ok i have picture, if you would like them pm me your email address
  7. I'll get them as soon as I can, may be a few days
  8. It does not have disc brakes or twin carburetors, the off-road wheels and tires are just standard wheels that he had somebody widen for him. If somebody is seriously interested in the car I will go get pictures
  9. no my first reaction was not restoration, sorry, i am not a body man, nor am i a purist. these are the exact reasons im informing my usmb brothers of the car the 1300 runs, well. was rebuilt before he was rear-ended, he said has about 20k miles the 1100 is the original numbers matching engine, he said it runs perfect as well, might need a valve. he said he has oem valves he has a set of custom wheels made for the car that allow him to install "buggy tire" he called em looked like a large high floatation sand tire. said he lived in so cal on the beach and would drive the car on the beach it will come with many parts, extra wheels, and spares. i offered him 600 for it and he said no. sounded like he is willing to sell, but wants a few more dollars, i am happy to be the middle man for you moosens. or any other usmb freind i will buy the car with your money and hold it on my farm until you are ready for transport. i wont charge, im glad to do it. if no one else is interested i may buy it just to say i own an ff1 and see what happens in time
  10. i found an all original ff1 wagon, its complete, kinda rough, was rear ended so tailgate is trash but it has a low mile 1300 in it, and a spare 1100 in the back with a spare trans, tons of other spare parts. the guy that has it now is 83 and the original owner! it has some rust here and there, but was a cali car until two years ago so the rust is very repairable. i considered dropping a full ej22 awd set up in it and having a fun rally wagon. but figured i would post here for those that may need parts/ want the whole car let me know what everyone thinks
  11. i dont know that there is a difference , but i am retarded......so.....
  12. yep- you can use machined aluminum endlinks for a wrx or sti
  13. ya, sounds close. your front sway bar end links will be pissed. a good front axle wont have issues. have fun with it
  14. i personally went 2.5 over stock with my 99. i used a 225 70 16 many many miles, mo issues with oem cv's. rump roast-loads of ground clearance, rode like stock i used a 2 inch spacer and h6 springs nothing else required. it was jumped, wheeled hunted out of, used like no other
  15. also- this forum is mostly off roady type subarus, take a peek at legacycentral.org for rally/ turbos, and junk
  16. not to hard, will require, money. just buy and sti engine, do research on turbos and supporting mods, relatively easy. i accidentally built a 450 whp legacy ten years ago, just an sti engine with a big turbo and support. have fun, post pics, enjoy the subaru!
  17. the oil pans on these trans are zero tolerance, i mean ZERO, so if you jacked the pan with a floor jack, dropped, farted to close to it, whatever, you ruined a solenoid in the trans. ive only done it like seven times
  18. its just a grille they used on a specific year, nothing magical
  19. got a 91 legacy, original everything, 376k, driven daily with an 8 inch lift
  20. subaru automatics have a series of solenoids in the trans pan, they are ZERO clearance, if you jack on the pan, hit a small rock, or the pan in anyway holds weight, those little guys crack, causing at temp light. just a good place to look.
  21. i manufacture a 1 and 2 inch kit for 2010 and newer legs and outbacks. pm for details
