  1. yes you have done some that may not show up for a while. Does your car have low range ? camo
  2. it must have been a real *************** to fit the belts with the tensioner in place you should back it off to fit the belts the noise could be the belts/pulleys rubbing on the covers the rubber seals missing could affect the clearance regards camo
  3. check that the driveshaft is tightened correctly this was a problem on the older subis if the nut was loose they would sqeak like you described camo
  4. ive towed a hire car trailer with a 83 wagon on it i think all up it was about 1800kg it was working hard but i wouldnt do it up and down any big hills though i have a 92 liberty/legacy sedan awd dual range manual and i love it!

  7. He sounds like a keeper to me, I wish someone would buy me a new Subaru
  8. Its your car you can do what you like but there are lots of autos coming on the market now that have tiptronic gear changes forwards for up and back for down the gears.Select which ever gear you need to get where your going i have no fear of using the gears to slow the car in mountainous areas regards camo
  9. its funny you know we dont get those here at all :-\ maybe we know to use neutral in a manual (stick shift) for you yanks although my new Suzuki motorcycle has one and its a pita, disconnecting soon camo
  10. As previously described they are in the middle of the heads beneath the coil packs there is a bolt securing the coil pack to the head just be careful doing the job as the coils are worth well over a $100 dollars each and I'd advise using platinum plugs which i think are standard so you dont have to do it again soon regards camo
  11. update i've had another look at it and there isnt any noise when drive is selected (i wasnt driving when it stopped) but also absolutely no change to the engine revs. It was going from nuetral to drive when it stopped could it have broken/disconnected a selector cable? Camo puzzled......
  12. I have a 92 AWD auto turbo legacy with no drive forward or rev it making a clunky flapping noise in gear but not moving any ideas?
  13. Yea it sounds like your thermostat is sticky if your going to pull it out only remove the centre section of it as it does control water flow as well as temp I had mine fail as well but my hose blew not the tank regards camo
  14. I get 10 litres per 100 kilometres (you'll have to convert that ) all day every day and i have a 92 GX Sedan Awd Manual Dual range regards camo
  15. We dont seem to have as many problems as you guys over there do (ours are built in Japan) but maybe thats related to volume also, the US sells more f trucks than total vehicle sales in OZ so we dont sell many subarus so we probably dont get the same number of problems and bad news travels fast on the board but you dont hear about all the ones that dont play up camo
  16. It may move for a while until the clutch pack in the rear of the transmission fails (if the front diff locks up that wont take long)and then it wont go at all ,Well thats my understanding of the auto, feel free to correct me if i am wrong:) regards camo
  17. Yes ,can you tell us what the difference is between the 60 and 105k mlie belts I's love to know as our service interval is 60k mikes here regard camo
  18. so for the crank angle sensor when it says in the failsafe area that there is none does that mean it stops? :-\
  19. I drove one here in Oz and the power was impressive although it felt a little heavy in the front (compared to my liberty) and it didnt seem to want to stop too well i think it was just the extra weight, but the finish was good as usual and I'd have one.
  20. Sounds like an input shaft seal, do you have any dents in the tranny pan? apparently they can affect things in an auto?
  21. So how long did he leave his truck running for ? that sounds like a good thread longest nonstop running of a subaru engine? P.s. our coldest day here in winter was hmm 5 degress C
