  2. Heres a pic of me in my usmb shirt recently at a subaru wrecker it was a BYB run and heres an old one of the car
  3. You could try this http://www.ausubaru.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=open;action=display;num=1064399107
  4. is this a carbed car? i had a problem with my electric pump once and it was getting lazy and stopped midway between strokes/contacts and the car stopped gave it a tap and away it went for several weeks before it stopped again I pulled it apart and cleaned all the contacts and gave the plunger a lube and it s been going ever since. hope this helps
  5. i'm not sure of the exact difference although i'm sure we have higher impact trigger speeds than you guys over there but there is some difference in the mounting set up you could email Subaxtreme and ask them :-)
  6. Try these guys Subaxtreme this is my bar they have airbag compatable bars
  7. your car is also at the age where the thermostat goes to heaven so while your changing stuff do it as well!
  8. that looks just like a suzuki/holden (read gm) we have here in Oz!
  9. As far as i'm aware this vehicle should have a centre viscous coupling which while in good condition will distribute drive to the front and rear at the same time ( to a point )my liberty has this even with 150k miles on the box it still works , i have picked front wheels up when offoading and still continued forward motion although i have seen another that did not! you can stuff them from abuse btw this a manual dual range regards camo
  10. yep but make sure there are two stands under the front if its aready in air , see my avatar as an example you can put the stands where the front suspension joins the body.
  11. you need to describe the noise a little more thoroughly, if the nut was loose this will make them squeak or is the noise a clicking sound ? Clicking meands the drive shaft is on the way out ,the cone washer is supposed to have the split in it the other is not, when you retighten the nut it needs to have 140 ft/lb or it will come loose
  12. As long as there is enough metal around the hole to take the helicoil it should be better than new most of the subaru bolts are 1.25mm pitch but if you cant get the right one you could substitute any bolt that fits in the hole as you now have a fresh slate so to speak
  13. yes it will you need one with the 9 inch clutch, i'm not sure if you need to space the starter:cornfuzz:
  14. thanks for the replies but i have since discovered that to remove the backing plates to swap over to the discs you have to remove the drive flange and that damages the bearings so i have replace them anyway so i'll do my own instead
  15. Quote"The Auzzies have D/R trannys in their Foresters:boohoo:" and in our awd wagons / sedans / outbacks
  16. Can anyone tell me will a drum brake rear hub for a awd 98 impreza interchange with a 92 legacy awd rear hub? I have found some cheap hubs and am wondering if they will fit my legacy? thanks in advance camo
  17. hey my previous bar killed a mitsubishi compact recently and i drove away so im happy and his insurance repaired my car and my old wagon killed skippy
  18. I know this is a newer Subaru but it's such a pretty bar i had to share EJ all the way!
  19. check the wire to the idle solenoid is ok its on the front of the carb if is broken it wont idle it looks like a large hex nut with a wire in the middle:-)
  20. its one of the Backyard boys from what i can see http://www.ausubaru.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl
  21. you could buy one in Oz and ship it over our dollar is crap against the greenback there's lots of them here
  22. We had the brat / brumby here in Oz till 1994(when i bought my L series there was one in the showroom ) but they were a carbon copy of the ones you have there the only option you could get was aircon, they had 3.7 diffs dual range tranny and thats it no turbos, jumps seats no targa top either ,just a plain old brumby with less power from lower compression to cope with the unleaded fuel. There has never been an L series brat sadly , have seen pics of a forester that converted into a ute ps they still pull good money, actually i think they cost more now for a good one than when they were new!
  23. Was there any loud tapping? have you cleaned the engine recently ? or bought fuel from a dodgy supplier? how many miles /klms has it done ? we need a little more info to diagnose from a distance Lets hope its not the timing belt as it means major work to repair:(
