congrats on the new car, i should have bought it:banghead: i just had a hard time sending the guy $550 with no proof.anyway, this car should suite you pretty well. as for mods, 1. weber 32/36 carb 2. 2.5 inch exhaust going from the y pipe back to a glass pack (better flow) 3. ea81 2wd electronic disty swap 4. accell coil/plugs/wires 5. look for a set of 14 or 15 in peugeot wheels, they are the only ones with the same lug pattern as a sube. with all these mods, you will have pretty decent power, for rallying, you may want to get some lsd`s.the exhaust will also sound nice and throaty. take care, Jon (fellow gen 1 subathusiast) -
c`mon, your lifted unit is real sweet looking, just in an offroady type way.i want both, one for show, one for off road:brow:

i`m looking forward to pics. -
try jacking the back of the car up, then press the button.jacking it up will relieve any pressure thats on the wheels.
-
i wonder is anybody would notice if you just pumped up the tires, hooked it up, and left? but seriously, the car looks pretty abandoned.the only problem would be the title.

he doesn`t build pre 80 lifts or ea71:banghead: its a bummer, i asked him one time, but he would need a ginny pig unit to test it on, and i`m too far away. -

oh, just saw your reply.yea, lights would be awesome.especially if they were recessed a little.here is a pic i found with some: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/brats/bratcolors/79-white-cust.jpg as for mounting, i left a little of the lip on the bottom, it has the 2 guides on the up section, and on the top i figured out a way to use the rain channels.i will post pics, but i think it will be pretty sturdy.now i wish i had a tonneau cover too:brow: Jon -

75subie replied to 81BRAT's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
drill out your bolting plates.it can be done with a hand drill and some precise measuring.a 5 lug swap might be easier for you. -
yep, its a weber knockoff
