  1. I say 30 minutes and he used a sawzall to take it out....I know those bolts can be a beeyotch, especially tilt wheel. C'mon, I can't be that slow...and no I wasn't hiding... Chris
  2. Hey Moose, I still have that hyd lifter ea81. 96K i think and comes with new gaskets. I'd certainly let you take it until you had the money. I wanted $150...it's in CT. Chris
  3. LMAO at the horny comment Tommy... Chris
  4. Joke's still on you, dude, sorry. I'm not doubting you can I'm doubting that You're saying two different things. Anyone can pull a motor in 2 hours. Trans swap is a different story. 2 hours for a swap and I'm sorry, but your hackin' it. CLICK HERE ! Chris
  5. Hopefully everyone realizes that when I said a "half hour job" I was simply repeating and maybe poking a little fun at an earlier reply... Chris Chris
  6. Hey Joe, time to pop your own cherry, so to speak. Boz, 2 hours total to change a transmission??!! DAMN! You can come and do mine when I'm ready!! Maybe I need my cherry popped, too. Perhaps you should get a job at a transmission shop! Does that 2 hours include installing any bolts or hooking anthing back up? Sorry, I had to... Chris
  7. Yeah, 'til you need one to risk his life to save yours someday! :madder: Chris
  8. Good score, Joe! Does this mean you're not going to need all those Brat parts??? Sorry, I had to... 1st thing - Definitely a clutch adjustment problem like Tom said. TIP - Don't shift into first while your moving like GD said. 2nd think - Noise could be motor mount like Tom said, also check pitching stopper, basic soundness of front end, and axles. 3RD and most importantly - don't let ANYONE tell you there are no rust free 84 wagons in PA - you saw mine.....it's from PA all its life. Lemme know if you need anything and how about some pics??? Chris
  9. Have to speak for New England since Moose hasn't chimed in yet. Mostly 70's and 80's cars driving around here with a <slightly> illegal plate on them driving to Milford. Maroon and blue ea-82 wagons for sure....1 brown Brat that drives through my town every once in a while (yes I followed him to find out where it lives!) Chris
  10. Third thumbs up on the door lock switch thingy. No seperate switch....:moon: Chris
  11. I have the same setup, darth. I think that is "dealer installed" ac. Mine is not currently functioning either.... Chris
  12. Paul, I'll be there....20th may be bad for me. though. I'll bring a couple 4 packs of (what do you call it?) oh yeah, holiday cheer with me. Chris:drunk:
  13. What years/models of the ea-81 had that light? I remember a "ECS" light on my 83 2WD wagon, not EGR, though. Chris
  14. Whatever Adam is doing to those motors should be an example to all of us on HOW NOT TO DRIVE! Keep the questions coming Glenn, you'll be offering advice to others before long. Chris
  15. I did "monk's" trick #1 a couple months ago and the cargo cover works like new. If its working in reverse, just unwind it and work the other way. Chris
  16. Joe, Looks like you better get that wagon from Paul before there are none left!! Chris
  17. Hey Guys, For those of you who have original equipment cyclops lights.....answer this question for me if you know.... Did they only function with the high beams on??? My 82 hatch seems to have a relay under the front pass seat that makes the center lamp operate...(i.e. - I only have voltage on the switch when the high beams are on) Thanks for your educated opinion, for those of you who know.. Chris
  18. Don't forget to take into consideration that your turn signal flashers are designed to operate a certain number of bulbs. Adding additional load can make them operate differently, or, not at all! :boohoo: Chris
  19. Here it is, not too bad. Needs the interior put back together and a little TLC. Runs excellent, 160K, 4SP D/R, no 3rd gear syncro problems, very very little surface rust on rockers, Colorado car. Found in CT. Lets just say I've spent more out to dinner with my girlfriend than I did on this car... Check these out... Chris
  20. Brian's right. Just did my ea-81 oil pump and it took about 10 minutes to re-seal. Just 2 o-rings inside the pump body, 2 o-rings and a gasket on the body to engine side and you're done. EA-82 I'm sure is not much different. I was going to spend the $50 from autopartsworld.com, but I took a chance and spent under $5 for the re-seal kit and it was so easy. Try the $5 kit first. Chris:banana:
  21. Skip, Just checked, my spare ign switch and door lock keys are not a match, sorry. Chris
  22. Lemmme know, Skip. I think removing the ignition switch is a PITA, especially if you have tilt wheel. Chris
