Ive had this problem with my old Z28, the wiring for the factory headlights was too thin to carry the voltage required for my lights. I rewired the harness using the factory routing, just upgrading to a thicker guage wire. My lights went from a dim yellow to a brighter yellow. Also some Sylvania Silverstars are good headlights/bulbs to go with. Id also try to somehow clean the lenses inside and out. Happy to help

That would be good, maybe Sean could make my wallet last a little longer. 100$ for a mint Hatch door doesnt feel good, especially when I might be able to aquire a car for that price

If its any help to you Rob, I was at Aaron's Auto Recyclers today getting a "new" (pretty much) door for my project hatch. I saw atleast 2 FT4wd RX's there, not sure if the tailights were good, but I didnt see any reason why they wouldnt be. I also believe the side skirts were on them as well .

Good job! best thing about slower vehicles is that it plays mind tricks one other drivers while bracket racing, and they get touchy when your halfway down the track and their lights start comin' down the tree. Its just plain mean . Hope you finish good and get a trophy

Zap, How is the Hatch Patrol Dead? I fail to see it coming anytime soon. New members are welcome isnt that right and Brandon (he was the guy that was with me when we went to your house the first time) Isnt going to let his mom stop him. Like Rob said, its because he doesnt have the title yet. His mom is going through the "My boy is growing up and I dont want him too" stage right now, Im glad im pretty much over that. LOL, Jiffy Lube Crew, Holla! Puyallup South Jiffy Lube here. We dont get paid enough do we? Anyways, I use Napa Gold Filters, and throw a couple Hard Drive magnets on the end of it, works pretty good, I guess.

Since its your fronts that are busted, the hard part is pulling them out without destroying the bearings/threads in the spindle. You could go with the lifetime replacement ones, but I dont think that covers breakage. BTW, I havn't tried my axle puller yet, and I still have a good Axle on the Red Wagon.

Dont worry about the Hatch, Brandon (Deathhatch) can't drive it until he has the Title, LOL, parents rules. You should have seen his moms face when he brought it home, she was so mad at him. I got home today, put the charged battery in, and turned the key. Keep in mind the engine hasnt been started in atleast 4 months. I was amazed when it fired up as soon as I turned the key. Now the only problem is that it wont idle. It starts up and idles for 2 seconds then dies, unless I "goose it" like its a carbed engine. I havn't pulled codes yet, but Ill do that when i get home from work on thursday. Any thoughts?

Ok, got an XT, and before I tear into it tommorow, i thought I would ask a quick Q here. My neighbor who I got it from said he drove it home from the accident, and it ran rough, but didnt leak anything. I find it amazing since the core support is nearly touching the cam cover. I know the basics of EA82's, so im not sure what could have happened. Im thinking maybe the accident caused the belt to jump a tooth, or jarred the electronics for the MPFI. Ill be home after work and hopefully the battery will be charged by then so i can maybe check for codes(anyone have a link on the codes, or how to put it in diagnostic mode) and what not. Jay

Im fairly certain it will be parted out (the XT) but all the good stuff from the wagon will be going into the hatch. I might have some extra parts laying around after a while though.

Would it be Red XT with a Blown engine, and a rebuilt Auto? If it is, that engine is bad, bad, and bad. I was in the shop when they comp. checked the cylinders, and as soon as they hit the button A\F shot out the radiator ! Edit: You have an XT.

I just got an 86 XT FWD 5speed from my neighbor for free. It rearended a civic hard enough to push the civic's trunk over the rear tires. It has a rebuilt EA82 with only 40k mi on it and a damn near perfect interior. I think im most likely going to keep the engine, tranny, pedal box, 5 speed interior parts, and dash cluster to swap into another XT (if the owner still has it) and keep an XT for a DD. Just sitting in it made me want to keep it What are the USMB's thoughts on this? Pics!

Cars can be replaced, People cant. Its A lot easier to replace fenders and hoods than friends and family . Glad shes ok. Jay

Ezap: That wagon sounds good, if it has little rust, especially in the rockers let me know. Im leaning towards a hatch though, but if that wagon is not all that rusty, you more than likely have a buyer . Sweet: That just might happen, take everything thats usable out of it, and make some sort of windshield less roadster and/or cage it up and continue with the off roading. I got a car that I can use for a DD, but its not accessible to me at all times. Hence I need a car for my own. The outlook right now is that im going to throw the motor that was in the Red wagon into the rustbucket parts car so ill have something to drive when i need it. Turbone, your hatch, if i got it, would be used for "pleasure trips" (through mud that is). Im just trying to get everything in order right now then i will probably start asking if anyone needs parts. Thanks Everyone Jay

Gravel: Just got back from where it happened. It looks like the sidewall went under and the pavement caught the rim. It rolled about 40 feet from where it started, to where I reconnected the coil wire and drove it off after i picked up all the stuff that flew out. On the hatch, Why does it have to be in Virgina? The wagon was insured, just not full coverage. I will most likely save as much as i can (Rack included) and make some sort of Truck out of it. But i would rather get a different sube, and be a little more grown up with it, and treat it better. Rolled my 83 Wagon on the street yesterday. Nobody got hurt, it was in the middle of nowhere. Just broke all the passenger glass and windshield and hatch glass, and caved in the roof. Also gave the Front Left an "XT" style front. I need to find a replacement, but I only have about $150 bucks. I have a Cosmetically good/rusty rockers 83 GL, but Id rather sell it and/or part it out. Same with my wagon, interior is still good, and it has a JDM Transmission and Diff. (3.7) The real question is, do you guys think I would do better parting the wagons out or would anyone like to buy em. Id like to get a hatchback, maybe a trade?
