turbo swap
if your really interested in doing this i still have the intake and block and turbo off my other turbo engine. the turbo is in great shape, as is the intake(minus some injectors 2). the block is good but the pistons have some small chips. the cylinder walls are ok though. i will give it to you or anyone else for free. just pay the shipping.

towing with a gl10
well its just like a the smallest covered uhaul trailer, and im only toting like babybed, bouncer, and things of that nature. not really a lot but more than the inside has room for with the family inside it. as far as the hitch goes its just the class 1 hitch that comes as a factory option on some of the older soobs. i scored it off a car at the junk yard. it says subaru on it.

towing with a gl10
i was just wondering if it would be safe to tow a small uhal trailer with my gl10. i put a hitch on it i found at the junk yard on another suby. in the manual it says its not recomended, but im sure some of you have. i also know you are not supposed to tow with a fwd vehicle. im sorry for the newb question but i need to know. i am having a baby in a few months and need to go back home to get my old baby stuff. its about a 600mi trip.

Fron wheel bearings Q
i never paid much attention to it like some others here until it almost cost me my life and my girlfriends(at the time) we were in so cal heading out to glamis when my steering shook real violently. i thought nothing of it and continued my commute to glamis at a high speed of 75mph. thats when it happened, it locked up on me, the driverside front. it darn near made me spin out and crash off a cliff. for that reason, ANYTIME i submerge the hub into water for more than like 10min i always repack them as soon as i get home, or in the morning. but to answer the question, yes they will make noise, when they get bad.

update! the newer engine
ok as some may know i had some major problems with a newer engine had bought from a company. and i did get some very useful help with photos (thanks skip) for the vacume hoses and timing. well i ended up taking it to the shop because sometime you just have to know when to throw in the towel. well it ended up being 1 bad injector and 1 bad injector seal. neither of those i would have never caught. the bad injector was pulsing but not spraying, and the seal, well thats a toughy if youve never owned a fi scoob before. so now its running and wow what a diffrence. i took the plastic thing out of the fender where the air filter attaches to get the turbo sound for now until i finish my custom intake(once again, thanks skip for the site). i also added the accel coil and 8.5mm wires with ngk platinum plugs gapped at .050. this engine really pulls. im not sure if it has more power than the us version but it feels like it(jdm ea82t). i am very happy now and cant wait to finish her up this weekend to take a nice drive. just thought i would share.

Need help understanding the divorced t-case mod
thats what i thought by that sweet diagram.(no pun intended). wow that would take some work. how do you het the axles and spindles to line up. drop the strut. but then what about the control arms. that would take a lot of fabbing. how well does it craw? pretty well.

Need help understanding the divorced t-case mod
what year/ modle subys is this mod applicable to? i dont have a front diff, just a trans with some cv's and a rear driveshaft. but it also isnt a d/r, just a push button. i had an 84 dual range, but honestly dont remember seeing a front diff. is that something you have to make. like take another rear diff and stick it in there with some fabbed brackets? but then wouldnt the revolution be backwards?.......im confusing myself:-p

Clutch cable installation - UPDATED - parts problems
getting the cable out at the pedle is the hardest part. i think being your first time it should take you about 1-2 hours. adjusting it is easy though.

highest mileage?
my 87 gl10 ea82t had 187k on the clock when the heads broke. i have a new engine now. the body looks like it has 70k on it. very good shape.

im confused..
so the two you can breath through connect to the waste gate and turbo out pipe, the the third one you cant breath through connects to the t fitting after the mafter the maf sensor on the intake hose? is this right?

serious new engine prob.
yes it is timed that way, but i think im not timing the cams right. i did it just like the factory manual said to but it isnt working.

serious new engine prob.
ok, i got my new ea82t engine thursday and started putting in my 87 gl10. it is a jdm replacement so i had to switch a few things from right to left. i changed the timing belts and gaskets and all but i cant get it to start. the timing marks for the valves are lined up with the 3 marks on the flywheel, and the dot with the spot on the timing belt cover. the cams are 180 degrees apart.(if the dot on one cam is up the other cam is down). the ign timing was set to 0 degrees on the #1 cyl and then set to 20 degrees before. i do have some hoses that i cant find a home for. they are the hoses on the turbo side of the car aginst the inner fender coming off that valve looking thing. i think two of them connect to the turbo, but i cant find where the third one goes. basically it is cranking over and sometimes it will fire but it never starts. i sprayed carb cleaner in it and it startde but ran real crappy then died. i know this would be hard to diagnose on the net but if anyone has any ideas on what could be wrong please pipe in.

gas mileage questions
this is great info ill take into consideration for the hew engine. does the accel coil just hook right up to the stock one, or will i have to splice and dice anything?
