  1. Pretty much everything is a near direct bolt on... you can swap the EJ engine range extreemly easily, on my bro in laws 98 rs we just swapped in an EJ257 and it fit perfectly! Bodyparts from the wagon series will fit too, like the WRX wagon deck spoiler. If you dont wana spend extra to get the WRX then dont, you can make a Impreza wagon or legacy wagon as fast or as slow as you want fairly easily!!! and I would advise you to stay away from NASIOC, some of the guys their are pretty cool, but the rest of them are a bunch of knowitall punk kids who got into the subaruworld with their daddys wallet and an 04 sti!
  2. heh heh heh... I'm not even reading the posts..... AIRPLANE, DUNEBUGGY, baSNOWMOBILE, SUPER BAD rump roast RIDING LAWNMOWER.... OR you can just use it to look preety, haha yeah clean it, chrome everything, and stick it in one of those coffe tables that have the 350 smallblocks and stuff... HAHAHA that would be rad!!!
  3. Hey as I am sitting up at 2:34 am and cannot go to sleep for some reason, I am wondering if anyone has ever coordinated a meet greet on two forums... by this I would mean anywhere. Anyways I think it would be cool if us guys in Az, and the guys from RS25.com have a meet greet together... I really dont know anyone from RS25 except my bro in law ozzy... But he went to a meet with them, driving his audi for goodness sakes, (his RS was under the knife) and he says that the people on RS25 are kinda like us... Cool and not thinking that we know everything in the world... unlike nasioc. So.. just an Idea for you guys...... the next meet that rs25.com has down here I am going to with my subie so... I hope they like oldschools, from what I hear they thought it was preety cool to hear of a gl-10 Turbo with 15 black pugs on it... so they obviously know what it is. well im off to try to sleep now... wish me luck
  4. wait... what about wheel bearings... Im confused... Is this definatly a break problem because it does sound like a sticky VERY STICKY CALIPER
  5. true............. so true........ PUGS!!!
  6. AWWW MAN... WA STATE!!! my bro in law moved down from their almost a year ago... sorry we wont be showing... if you guys can get closer next year than we will be their either with a GL And a GL-10 or a 98 2.5rst and my Gl-10 oh well I guess you guys can count me out.... darn... oh well i hope to come to one of these type of thingys some day HAVE FUN!!! and dont pull too many trucks out of the mud guys!
  7. Well, An A/C compressor will not run under normal operating conditions if it is too highly pressurized or too lowly pressurized... there is a pressure switch or sensor or something to that nature that will not allow the system to be used when their is an issue like that... no offence at all, I love DIY I mean come on, its a subaru... but doing it with a can at home can be tricky... the little gauge that has a large grean area surrounded by red is no dice.... dont use it if at all possible... and dont get me wrong, it is totaly possible to get it right and it works, but it can cause severe damage and possible injury(woah I sound like a disclaimer) if it is ran extreemly overpressured. and did you convert yours to a 134 A??? or did you cough out the cash for R-12... if its r134, then try to get it vacuumed( it will boil the moisture in the system) and then pressurized by a A/C machine... if then it still doenst work, weve got a small list that could be the cause! by the way skip, your dash is Badass
  8. If they are a reputable shop... example, someone other than joeshmoes auto... than they probably used felpro or same quality... felpro makes many of the gaskets for manufacturers so they are a good alternative to OEM... And overheating an engine can screw everything over... the engine is metal, Metal expands and contracts with heating and cooling, but as you have probably seen with seran wrap (pardon me if I spelt it wrong) the you can notice that if you stretch the wrap too much, it will be deformed in that spot and will not shrink again. Same principal with an engine... the bolts can stretch, actually that is what they are intended to do! thats why you torque them a certain way, the bolts stretch, they keep a certain tension and your engine runs... but over heating an engine wont make them less springy, its everything that gets screwed, your head gasket will become more crushed and then once the engine cools, and then reheated, this time to normal operating temp, it is crushed too much and you have a leak. So thats a basic reason why too much heat is bad bad bad for an engine... I hope it helps......
  9. well.. dont think this will help but you can use the Nissan Zeeeees lineup of fuel squirters but thats really only if you wana go more boost, and in that case you better get a SFAC to controll it.... Anyways about the problem, I think that it could be a fuel problem or ignition problem.... The symptoms work perfectly in both conditions... this probably wont help either but, if you have a friend with an oscillo scope (hard word to spell) than that would easily and quickly rule out the ignition... but then again so would replacing the injectors.... hope it helps, even a little!
  10. I dont think its your MBC Mine worked great, I had boost creap but that is not the mbcs fault, its the td04s fault for having the dumbest designed internal wastegate man has ever come up with... for the most part its true that "you get what you pay for" but a manual boost controller.... how do you screw that one up... so long as its not leaking and the greedy boost hungry bastard behind the knob is paying attention, it should work fine.... Its the same thing as guns dont kill people, people kill people... Cheap MBC's dont destroy engines people behind mbcs controll engines... Expensive mbcs work exactly AND I MEAN EXACTLY as the homemade mbc does sure they look prettier but if you want to sit at the "dopy nopi nationals" then sure buy a good mbc... or hell BUY AN ELECTRONIC ONE!!! but if you want more boost... disconect your wategate... just kidding, either buy a mbc, or buy the parts and make one your self........... and boost leaks will cause the symptoms that he had... I have had tons of boost leaks, that I only found when I hooked up a smoke machine to the intake... it was so small that it only truly caused issues once my boost reached 9psi.... so end of my rambling on and on... but dont tell a man that his work of brass art sucks, it hurts real bad!!!! By the by... I am interested in the delta regrinds, my bro in law just got his 98rs running and he had his reground... and my did he get a HEWGE LIFT!!! I can understand if you dont want to go on specific duration and lift, but are you running much bigger than stock, or just a littlebit... and how is that working for you??? I wana put HOT HOT HOT cams in my beast!!! but im afraid that I will have to build up my valvetrain to handle it (and how big did he go??? lets just say that it spit shims at hand turn with wrench speed)
  11. wait are you saying cleaning your MAF or cleaning your intake.... if its your intake then get some carb cleaner but if its your MAF HEAVENS NO>>> go to autozone or walmart or checker shucks and whatever MAFS are delicate and do not like carb cleaner or other harsh chemicals!!!
  12. oh yeah a wash and a wax.. MAKE SURE YOU HAND WAX ITTTTTT or your waisting your time.... but it will clean up real nice... also since the paint is old... as it is on all, except those who have re-painted them, why not buff it... buffing will bring out the color in your paint real nice... oh yeah and SUN BAD SUN IS BAD BAD BAD FOR WAX!!!! but I'm pretty sure that you already knew that... welcome, and nice first roo!!!
  13. Yeah check above the tranny, I can almost guarantee that its push button (if it wasnt he would be considered a wuss if he couldnt get the lever in) you either forgot to put one back on or ripped one out when fussing with the transmission, its allright it happons to the best of the best, and vaccum sucks... anyways hope you get it figured out.. actually the if their is a wastegate issue it has to be vaccum, the only other thing it could be would be mechanical, but that would be a really sucky circumstance and im betting against the odd that it is mechanical.... oh and I just realized that I made a joke... hahaha... vacuum sucks... hahahaha I seriously didnt mean it as a joke...
  14. WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH.... Im a little sleepy but I (after reading all of the posts) have just realized that this is in AZ...... WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!! dont worry blue roo... daddys got the 12 gauge loaded sorry about that... had to offer reasurance.. is it all right... I mean the body had to have taken a bit of a beating... and HOW DID YOU NOT HEAR IT!!! no offence at all but what did they tip it with, it would take at least 10 guys ( who are arnold strength) to even get the tires off the ground!! its time we set up a club like hatch patrol down here!!! even though some of hatches members are down here... we need to build an army.... THIS WILL NOT STAND!!!!!!!! anyone for mounting mini-gunz on a gl???? I AM!!! all right who are the jocks at your school who think their really cool... I have a "deer resistant" bumper that is wheelen for keelin!!!
  15. NO, you dont need a map. You just need a large ammount of gas :-) you will get there sometime. remember! we are never ever lost. just taking the long way there.
  16. I personaly do not trust my digi gauge set. or the pushbutton for that matter. It goes in but it never wants to disengage..... Didos on the GL-20 Also Skip... What is the thingy next to the clock?? to the right of it? is that like a rocket target or something???
  17. My car does this too... Its a pushybutton, which i hate because sometimes it likes to stick and then make me drive on tarmac with 4wheel on. That sucks. Anyways, The Clunk is kinda scarry but It hasnt been damaged from what I can tell. Did your car do this before??? Also my car has 255000 miles on this tranny. So.. its just getting broken in
  18. Hmm... I dont feel like getting my owners manual but also, I never use it so.... I just replace mine every 10,000 to 15,000. Its easy to do, also along with your fuely filter kit, buy some fuel like and get a pair of dikes in there. When i replaced mine the line split as I slid it on, Talk about bad timing...
  19. I would check for a Boost leak, my car, With all the numerous problems that it has, ok let me start over. When My car was running sweet, I made a MBC, and it worked good, Except for the horrible boost creep that the TDO4's internal waste gate has. Now this boost controller isnt the best choice for boosting up a car but, If it is building pressure and then drops off I wouldnt suspect the controller just yet, if you have the time, and the cents to make a new one, I would. Just to be safe of course, And its one of the easiest things to rule out. if it does it with the new one, check for boost leaks! Remember, most of the time they wont leak under atmosphere pressures.
  20. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... I see it too.... Anyways, Wow look better than when I try using a cell phone to type, Yeah and Im a teenager, Texting is dumb in my opinion, Anyways good luck on the moooove
  21. I know of this paint stripper type stuff, its no ordinary paint thinner. It eats paint for breakfast lunch and dinner.... It is classified as Aircraft grade... we used it to take the paint off of my bro in laws WRX intercooler... as soon as we spread the thick gloupie stuff on it, it began to bubble the paint right off... and I know your looking for the name. but... I forgot.. But I belive we found it at a checker type store... this stuff is seriously toxic.. I bet it could burn your fingers realy quick.
  22. I had (when i first got my car... some of you remember) A CATISROPHIC TEETH STRIPPAGE... with the gators that were in my car. the first week after i got my license.. in the middle of an interection she dies AHHHHH.... but the cause of the teeth strippage was a leak from the water pump... ( i am now realizing that I am telling you my life story) BUT..... The Right Side tbelts were already dryrotting and looked really bad. they were not touched by the coolant. So in the end i replaced it with JDM OEM subaru tensioners andbelts... Shes is running good. apart from the exhaust leaks and other crap thats been going wrong...... ah its nice to be back.. i havnt posted in a long time
  23. Slap a digi dash in it..... My friends all think that the digi is so freaking amazing........ Yeah I guess I think its bad rump roast also.
