Dang, I'm lucky if I get 24mpg running around reno. I do climb a lot of hills on my way home all the way to Cold Springs. I drive the speed limit, maybe 5 over sometimes. I run a K&N also. I just did a tune up and it seems to be running better, I hope to get it up around 30. I think I'm gonna run SPFI on it next. I'm sure that will put it over 30 for sure!

Oil pump is in the center, the crank sticks out of it. Might be the pump gasket? But if its coming from one side it might be the cam seal. How are the valve cover gaskets and oil pan gaskets?

It's possible that one of your crank/cam seals did not seat right. Or your oil pump seal/gasket is leaking. I would tear it apart again and inspect. Might save you $500.

Oh and if you wanna drive over the hill you can check out Barscotti's Auto Care in New Castle.
